Quote: Stand-Offish "Shush!
I wish I had a video of me walking down the steps from the bar in the sky with a full pint all the way down the concrete steps to my seat on the front row.
Health and safety or what.
Scary.
Another good reason for opening the concourse bar.
I agree but it seems to be strangely cheaper by 20p in the finery of the bar in the sky for the J.S. How and indeed why is this ? does anyone know ?

It's a good question.
I went to a do in the restaurant in December and John's was cheaper then.
But on the concourse it is the same price as lager.
Dodgy or what.
They're taking for us for mugs, pure and simple.
icon_eek.gif
Don't buy the muck at those prices and make them lower the prices.
But we won't work together.
Typical saddo Britons.
We would stand by and let the s walk all over us before doing something about it.
icon_eek.gif
I've made my mind up now, I will never buy another pint in the Keepmoat, and would urge everybody to do the same until the robbing b@stards bring the price down.

Wentworth Brewery's Rampant Gryphon at 6.2% abv, a session beer for serious alcoholics like me who want to live the part of a beer-fueled bummer.

I own up, I was in the Tut before the game - Dr Okells IPA and Old Mill Brewerys Old Curiosity were on this week. I did venture into the Gateshouse after the match but if I'm honest I can't remember what I picked. icon_eek.gif

I've had that before and like it. I have a feeling that I tried something I'd not had before but then forgot it's name. icon_surprised.gifops: To be fair I was probably on pint number 8 or 9 by then.

Had a few pints of Leeds Brewery Midnight Bell on Friday night at the Scarboro' Hotel in Leeds after watching the excellent Ian Hunter in concert. Really nice, strong mild at 4.8%.

For those of you who like bottled real ale, and I know it's not to everyone's taste, I happened upon the largest selection I have ever seen at Booth's Supermarket in Knutsford, Cheshire over the weekend, many of them at £1 a bottle.

I came away with 14 different varieties and left at least another 100 different ales on the shelf. Didn't count the number of brewers represented but there must have been at least 50.

It's time they opened one in South Yorkshire k020.gif

Just noticed tigertots has one near him icon_wink.gif

Booths in Ilkley is the dogs gonads for bottled beer, like you say plenty at 99p. I tend not to drink beer at home though, but I do tend to sample a chilled pale ale or three in the garden of a summers evening.

Ventured out to The Bay Horse at Great Heck last night having read about it in the Good Beer Guide. Real Ales from The Old Mill Brewery. Pint of Black Jack and a top meal. Winner! icon_biggrin.gif

An excellent pint of Adnams Broadside in the Cocked Hat - I always enjoy my visits there. Good banter before the game, talking up the Dons chances of finishing in the top 2 in NL2 and then ... no let's not go there!

Proper beer. icon_cool.gif
Had a pint of Jericho in Wetherspoons in Donny (don't know who makes that).
Speckled Hen in the Tut (beautiful).
And a couple of real ales in the Cocked Hat. I didn't take much notice of what they were, but they were excellent.
And then................... icon_sad.gif

Nothing wrong with Abbot Ale, as you say a cracking pint and excluding one or two seasonal beers it's now the strongest of the Greene King ales at 5% (since the strength of the Cask version of Old Speckled Hen was reduced to 4.5% in 2006).
