| I think we have to wait & see , may be John , Carl & Steve cannot take the club any further forward & feel this is the best option.
They have done a sterling job so far & we have to trust their judgement.
just hope there will be no redundancies if the talks are conclusive !

| As I understood it when I read the report it hinges on whether or not there's a feasible way of the rovers financing us into super league to improve revenue streams. If that comes to pass I'm happy enough with that tbh. No wonder Carl was annoyed at the shenanigans from some of the super league clubs at the league restructure meetings. And while on that topic six clubs walking out should not need a rearrange - it should be classed as abstaining from voting and the vote should carry on regardless. They don't even technically hold a majority vote assuming all votes are equal (as they should be).

It's not how I read it AdamH.
It says that both sides are keen to do a tie up and that it is almost inevitable.
The Superleague possibilities are further to that end, because it used the word 'also' in the report after the tie-up main thrust.

| According to the YP John Ryans future at the Rovers hangs in the balance , he is at odds with other shareholders over the Sequetia take over of the Rovers & according to sources close to him isn't happy with the Rovers taking over the Dons.

| What i find a bit worrying is that if the Dons are/ have been taken over by Rovers , it is by a club that are seemingly in the process of being taken over themselves . Will the new owners of Rovers, if any, want the Dons to be involved ?.

| Been all sorts of stuff mentioned on Radio Sheffield Football Heaven tonight. I heard it from 620 onwards and one Rovers fan wasnt happy about the club putting money into the "black hole" that is the dons.

From my point of view, I think the takeover of the Dons has been instigated by Baldwin, Bramall and Watson, as they seem to be the ones that are pushing for the Rovers takeover to happen. Either, they want to package the Dons as part of the Rovers takeover, or in the case of Bramall and Watson are looking for another outlet for their investment once their money isn't as tied down in the Rovers.
I can remember talking to someone associated with Rovers a few years back, who expressed his surprise that a full time outfit in the Championship can be financed for considerably less than £1m, which, considering, Rovers financial outlay a season on their wage bill is some 7 or 8 times that amount, may give the less publicity seeking members of the Rovers board something to spend their money on.

I'd say that the financial situation at The Dons is far more transparent than at the Rovers, or the majority of the Football League.

I'll bet there is more money going into a "black hole" at the rovers.
We would be a better bet than they are if we were in super league or super league 2 which we could yet be in.
Dependant on the RFL obviously.
