| I agree it's not how I remember it from years ago but still a decent drink all the same.

| Sampled the following in No2 Refreshment Rooms on the Station at Cleggy, Saturday afternoon,(excellent little watering hole ) Hardy & Hansons Old Trip (superb) Wold Top's A4 Amber and Cottage Brewing Goldrush(excellent). Just get out of there before the Ladette Lager and black brigade arrive early evening
Carpenters Arms at Tickhill have Everards Tiger on (lovely) and Scarboro Arms (Tickhill) best drop is Abbott (superbly kept and a meal in a glass) They also have Heart of Hampshire real cider on(more of a scrumpy) brilliant stuff.

| Arrived at the Scarbrough Arms, Leeds en-route to Keighley on Sunday to find that they are mid-way through a Yorkshire Real Ale and Cheese week featuring Pork Pie (yes it really did say that on the posters).
Sampled the Abbeydale Black Mass (6.66%) before moving on.
Roosters YPA in Wetherspoons on Leeds Station.
Also visited a couple of Timothy Taylor pubs in Keighley. The Boltmakers Arms and the Volunteers. Sampled Ram Tam in the former, Best Bitter in the latter.

Pity, cos I can think of a certain bloke carrying a flag who may have benefited from a rocket or two

| Visited the Old Poets Corner at Ashover, Derbyshire yesterday. The Pub is home to the Ashover Brewery and the Poets Tipple went down very well in the afternoon sun.
Whilst in the area, a visit was also paid to the Nettle Inn, Milltown which you can't miss as it's painted PINK. Farmers Ale from Sheffield's Bradfield Brewery was the order of the day there.

| Quote: seuseuwho? "Been out and about recently. Had several pints of Black Sheep Ale at the Hayburn Wyke near Scarborough last Monday, as opposed to the comparatively insipid Black Sheep Bitter. A beautiful summer's day on the East Coast ( you don't get many of them
Discovered a little gem of a pub on Tuesday of last week, the Valley Bar on Valley Road, Scarborough, where I sampled RCH Pitchfork and Brown Cow Nocturnal, both excellently kept.
This pub is also notable as being the Camra National Cider and Perry pub of the year and allegedly does the best fish and chips in Scarborough. The liver and onions looked and smelt delicious by the way.
Last week, I had a pint of Abbot Reserve, much better and more dangerous at 6.5, than Abbot Ale ;D at my local hostelry, followed by Mordue IPA at 5.1 (x2) and Burton Bridge XL Bitter, which suffered by comparison. The afternoon was a bit hazy
Was in there Saturday sheltering from the rain......as you do.
Had a pint of something from the Fernandes Brewery (Wakefield) a micro brewery now owned by The Osset Brewing Company. Can't remember what it was called...but it was 6.2%, a light colour and had a picture of a flower stalk being clutched by a hand.....probably a metaphor for strangled beauty.
Anyhow it had a name that suggested regret in a hangovery way. Christ it would have been easier just remembering it FFS!

Can't fault yer.
In recent days have sampled Orkney Northern Lights, a Mauldon summer beer, Challenger Special ( Saltaire), a cracking chocolate coloured beer and a very tasty Sgt Pepper Stout from Spire, which has been laced with black pepper and you can taste it! Also yesterday evening it was Newby Wyke's White Sea and Derby's Pale Lady at the Arkwright arms, Duckmanton. I would give them all another go given half a chance
