Great result! Funnily enough, the last time I saw us nil any opposition was way back in the mid-Eighties and the opposition? Yes, you've guessed it, Workington, but it was 30-0 then. In all honesty they were lucky to get nil.
Brilliant in defence, a bit clueless going forward. Not until the last five minutes did we suddenly realise that Workington were playing with 12 men. Was like a warzone; Robinson seemed to be poleaxed by Thackray, Kesik limped off, Spiers and Lawton were more or less carried off. Man of the Match was officially Carl Hughes, but I felt it should have gone to Lucas Walshaw, who made good yards every time he had the ball.
We capitalised on every half-chance, which was great to see, as was Powley with his elusive running.
We've already gone way beyond anything I imagined at season's kick-off and to achieve what we have achieved has gone way beyond bonus territory.
Well done again to everyone concerned
