If we put out our best side in terms of who plays in their best positions, we will win.
Given that we tackle well as a basic requirement.
There is no reason why we shouldn't look to show them up.
And more than that, we need to beat them easily as a marker for the final should they be our opponents.

Wigan got turned over at home to St Helen's last night - which spoilt their presentation night celebrations of receiving the League Leaders shield. That serves as a timely reminder as to what can happen in sport. Admittedly a big turning point was the sending off of Wigan's Michael McIlorum. We need to keep our discipline and make sure that we don't do ourselves damage.

I agree with S/O, this is an opportunity to put down a marker as there's a fair chance we could meet Barrow in the final.

The Dons' attitude has been excellent all season. I'm sure they'll be focussed and will be looking forward to the challenge. Self-belief without complacency is the key.

Team selection is important too. I agree with points said elsewhere that we have been a little light in the front row of late but have got away with it. Craig Lawton missing doesn't help us.

I'd be keen to hear from the Dons as to which dual (spelt properly for S/O this time! icon_lol.gif ) reg players are eligible for the play-offs. Can you officially fill us in on the details DonsNews please?

This is an ideal opportunity for the Donny public to give the team and club a pat on the back. If you read the forum but haven't been attending games, please come and join us on this special occasion.

Supporting the Dons has had its grim times, let's all join together and celebrate a great season for the club with the best attendance of the season.

i thought they handled the euphoria very well at london when there was more at stake.

Totally agree with Double Movement. This is a history making Dons side, and I'm just so glad I've seen the majority of all the games this season
Tell everyone what a momentous occasion this will be. The support really made a differenve at London, and will do in the play-off's. So I would urge EVERYONE to come and give the lads the support they deserve.

I feel the same. I know its different behind the posts watching the game, compared to being in the stands with the fans, but at the same time, its just being there and seeing how we've developed as a side throughout this season. We've had our ups, and downs, and we've had our fair share of other emotions, but this season the endearing emotion is one of pride.

The Dons really do need the fans to come out vs Barrow.
Barrow will bring a fair few given that their gates are twice ours.
BUT! The number of times I have sauntered into the Keepmoat expecting a good crowd and been disappointed with the turnout beggars belief.

Yes i know I've only been going this season but with the rugby i have seen i can't understand why gates have not been bigger. Could it be the lack of media coverage?Dons News can only push so far,we need the local radio etc to stand up.

At times, I could blame the Free Press and the Star for their lack of coverage, but in the last few weeks, they've got fully behind us.. Now to get the other media outlets in Donny to back us..

Double Movement - I can confirm that all four dual registered signings, Liam Cunningham, Danny Cowling, Russ Spiers and Lucas Walshaw, are available for the Barrow game on Sunday.

it seems that we are not the champions after all as the grand final winners will be crowned champions though we do win leageu leaders shield and the 50 grand source R L express

www.cooperativechampionship.co.u ... p?id=26071 Wood congratulated Doncaster on becoming champions. That's good enough for me. otherwise in theory Oldham could have been crowned champions but not be among those promoted. How daft would that make the RFL look, they don't need any more help!

The whole business of "Who is champions?" is nothing short of a joke and leaves the RFL with questions to answer.

Play-offs and knock-out rugby might make good TV viewing for the likes of Sky, but the true champions should be the team that has done best over the full season.

I am not saying this because we won the league but because it is the fairest way to assess who is the best team.

Take the Wigan v St Helen's game last Friday. St Helen's won because Michael McIlorum got sent off. Does that make St Helen's a better side than Wigan? According to the league table it doesn't, but if that had been a play-off game, Wigan would have been dumped out.

Luck plays a part in sport but especially so in one-off games. If the RFL and Sky want the game to be taken seriously they should do everything they can to make sure the team who comes out top of the pile over many games is recognised as the best team.

Play-offs make good viewing for fans and create some extra end of season excitement ... but they don't tell us who the best team is. That is the job of the league table!
