| How ironic is it that the Same ref who blatantly robbed us in the play offs last season was in charge again today! Some of his decisions today baffled me. All game Dewsbury were offside and holding down and he didnt give us a thing but in the second half when we were starting to get on top he awarded Dewsbury penalty after penalty. A few new people were there today and they said not coming again to watch a game of rugby ruined by inconsistent officiating and THAT is the reason why crowds are down. Can anyone explain how a Dewsbury knock on led to a penalty for Dewsbury baffling decision.

Hadley started, played half an hour or so, before leaving the pitch with what looked like a head injury.

| Dewsbury better side for me. Too many silly penalties & dropped ball by the Dons .
We will be better when we get some players back from injury & suspension !

| In sport, you have to control the controllable. We have to look at what we did wrong as a team, not what the ref did wrong as a referee. If we'd got our bit right, we would have won today.
Too many handling errors and an inability to deal with kick-offs were two of the reasons for our downfall. We went 10-4 up, dropped the ball from the kick off, then conceded a try in the next set of six. That was the significant turning point in the game, and that was nothing to do with the referee.
I would also question why all our kick-offs went in the same place every time, to a guy who looked very good at collecting them?
I felt we missed the up-front go forward from Russ Spiers and Brett Waller, and no Kyle Kesik didn't help either.
Credit to Dewsbury because they kept going and came back when many others teams wouldn't have done.

| Well we lost, but I think that the better side won.
I was happy we got a bonus point, we nearly didn't.
The lime green lunatic? What planet of rule books up the backside did he come from? He was my main grumble.
All three of the Rams tries we had a hand in.
A good break by them followed by a brilliant tackle back then let down by powder puff on the line defence.
Try two a dropped ball from a restart set it up.
Try three a small centre taking the ball in against big defenders and knocking it on.
We looked well short of forward power and hence we hardly got anywhere near their line.
When we did we were very good and scored tries.
It was just we never got there enough.
Fabulous defending throughout, apart from the tries, but that's all it was ...Donny trying to keep Dewsbury out.
Some work to do on attack still.
But we are however fourth ... yippee!
Barrow turning over the Eagles away?
Excuse me!!

| According to Cooke's verdict on the website the players were adamant that the 3rd Dewsbury try was a no try as the ball was not grounded. my earlier rant about the officiating aside I was proud of the effort today and the lack of recognised props was a factor altho I thought Robbo had a great game as Prop and Leafy filling in there too (has he now played in every position for the us). We still seem to have a problem fielding re-starts altho the one that Kelly dropped under huge pressure after we had scored held up in the wind. Roll on next Sunday gonna be a tough game at Batley but confident we can come away with something. COYD

| I agree we can't blame the referee, who was a total joke, when we knocked on or failed to defend our line.
Our defensive effort on the left hand side was found lacking, and why did every kick off have to go to the same place, were is the variety to unsettle the opposition.
We lost the game rather than Dewsbury outplaying us to win it. Can well understand why transient attenders don't come back when they see such p*ss poor examples of officiating as was again on display today.

| I do think the game would have been different if the injured/banned players would have been there. We lacked options in attack and let ourselves down with too many silly penalties! Hopefully have players back next week and hope Hadley is ok.

| Tough game and all square with 8 minutes to go. I dont think the supporters from either side could have faulted their teams efforts today.
The team was short of three of last weeks starters and lost Hadley quite early on. This along with the absence of Keswick reduced the interchange options for keeping people fresh and this had an effect towards the end.
Mr Stokes was pretty lax all day with his offsides but then must have penalised Doncaster more in the last 10 minutes than he did both teams in the previous 70, bizarre. Consequently this gave Dewsbury field position and put Doncaster on the back foot.
Dewsbury finished the stronger and just edged it which was reflected in the final score.
Although we lost and tere is disappointment, I enjoyed the game and the effort and commitment from both sides
I would have been even more disappointed if we had lost the bonus point as the effort all the players put in deserved some reward.
Dewsbury are a big fit side who going to rollover a lot of sides this year and surprise some of the 'top five'.
As for Doncaster we have 7 from 9 points but the next five games include against Batley, Fev, Halifax and Sheffield and we need to stick with the boys through this period.
If we got 5 or 6 points from those games plus 3 points against North wales I would be happy.
