No wonder the Challenge Cup is dying on its feet. A home tie against a SL club may have created a bit of interest in the town but we all know what will happen at Widnes, and to make matters worse for some unknown reason it is moved to a Friday night. Who wants to have to finish work early to sit in miles of traffic just to see our team get spanked? Also it must be a bind for players trying to get time off work.
So no i won't be going.

Only thing I can say is save your money everyone and go to the match that matters , Haven away next Sunday.

Geoff and Gary have said on another thread that it will be a nightmare travelling there on a Friday night and Im not expecting the lads to beat a full time team playing on their patch after our lads have done a days graft.(The fixture timing is hardly fair)

Lets all go to Haven and give the boys 100% up there IMO

Cup Preview

Doncaster Rugby League Club are back in Tetley's Challenge Cup action on Friday night and will face Super League club Widnes Vikings in the fourth round at the Stobart Stadium (8pm kick-off).

The Dons progressed to the next stage thanks to an impressive 52-22 victory against Championship One club South Wales Scorpions almost a fortnight ago. Tony Miller was without the services of his dual registered and loan players that day and the same will apply against the Vikings.

Prop forward Matt Carbutt is due to make his comeback after sustaining a knee injury at Hunslet in early March and scrum half Craig Fawcett returns to the fold after missing the last two games due to work commitments.

Prop Mark Castle is also available for selection after missing last week's Featherstone game with a back injury. However, Brooke Broughton will miss out after spraining an ankle last Thursday night but should be back in contention for the Championship game at Whitehaven on Sunday 28th April.

Looking forward to tonight. It's been a whole since we played you guys and you have had plenty of change since then. Thankfully you've come out of it all strongly.

Bit of a shame it's Friday for your travelling support but I guess both clubs have looked at it as probably a low attendance anyway and fancied extra days rest on the playing front for league fixtures.

Hope those of you that do make it have a good experience and that pitch we have does breed itself for fast exciting rugby at the very least
