The whole business of "Who is champions?" is nothing short of a joke and leaves the RFL with questions to answer.

Play-offs and knock-out rugby might make good TV viewing for the likes of Sky, but the true champions should be the team that has done best over the full season.

I am not saying this because we won the league but because it is the fairest way to assess who is the best team.

Take the Wigan v St Helen's game last Friday. St Helen's won because Michael McIlorum got sent off. Does that make St Helen's a better side than Wigan? According to the league table it doesn't, but if that had been a play-off game, Wigan would have been dumped out.

Luck plays a part in sport but especially so in one-off games. If the RFL and Sky want the game to be taken seriously they should do everything they can to make sure the team who comes out top of the pile over many games is recognised as the best team.

Play-offs make good viewing for fans and create some extra end of season excitement ... but they don't tell us who the best team is. That is the job of the league table!

I agree some clarification is needed, obviously everyone at the club were under the impression that the Dons are champions, so this development makes the RFL look a bit daft , to get to the end of a season and it's not clear who are champions is laughable

The RFL forgot the rules they'd agreed to apparently. What a joke they are!

Semantics, pure and simple. Proving yourself over 18 games is far more of a challenge than a 2 game shootout. If we stick to what we have done throughout the season, there's no reason why we can't win the play-offs too. Quite honestly, as far as I am concerned, this game is a celebration of winning the League. If we lose, so what? If we win, it's a day out in Warrington. Anything else this season is purely a bonus.

Has anyone got an idea of the side for Sunday?
Will Hodson and Butters figure or will Miller go with the side that won at London?

Thats the drawback with the dual reg system, not knowing from one week to the next if they will be available. He may still feature if he doesnt make the 17, though you woulnt begrudge him if he did.

Lee smith got a touch of dead leg but played on last week. May be precaution, depends on smiths fitness. If he doesnt play for wakey I would imagine he will be playing for you guys.

Hope so , cowling & walshaw were impressive against London last week end.

The preparation is all going well for the Barrow game what with a Cowling doubt, a Hodson rejection (why play a world-beater anyway!?) and a Deano departure. Plus no Lawton of course.
