| Though i can understand the postings made over the years by Stand-Offish
may put other posters backs up,(myself includes on some occasions )-the vast
majority of what he posts is i believe relevant and heart-felt and shows he does
care about The Dons--
He speaks his mind, has knowledge of the game and though he sometimes winds
people up he was one of the few who raised money for the club on the sponsored
walk to Castleford a few seasons ago, and having spoken to the guy i know he would
like to see the club succeed with a passion.
Over the last five years the club has lost at least 60% of its fanbase, some of whom
i personally never thought would stop supporting the club.
I'd be very surprised if a single fan has left due to postings made on here by anyone.
The £50 season ticket offer made by Carl does appear to be a great offer to bring the
fans back to the game and i hope it succeeds-- but it's not surprising that some of the
fans are sceptical-------That's due to how the club has conducted itself in the past
not due to anything written on this forum.

Gee thanks DRAGONFAN......I owe you a pint.
On a personal basis, I have done my utmost to not criticise anyone at the club by name over the last year or two.....certainly under Carl's reign....I slip up once in a while if I get angry.
But I certainly do want the Dons to do well and if disagreeing with policies or strategies is seen as a hindrance to that aim by some...then the news is I won't change giving an opinion on the way things are going....right or wrong.
And if anyone thinks I am always knocking the Dons and looking to do so at every possible opportunity...then they only have to look through my posts to see lots of praise along with any criticisms.
I made the post because I was worried the Dons would lose income........not for my sake.......but for their sake.
ENOUGH!!

| If I remember correctly a lot of the games where S.O . has left early he has stated it is due to the standard of OFFICIALS . I can say that he was one of the few people who tried to get me to start attending matches again very early in the season.
I do not know the man personally but respect him for his views and for his continued support of the club!

| The whole point of this page is a FANS FORUM for fans to have their say whether it be good or bad.
The min we start telling fans(who have been supporting the club for many years) that they are no longer welcome when just asking a question is very sad day for my club.

It was a very sad day indeed and a couple of us who attended yesterday preferred to pay the £12 rather than accept a complimentary ticket from the Club based on that statement. Reading the comments on here and talking to other supporters the statement has had quite a negative effect.

| In current climate affording games has been a struggle,
Previously I have bought season tickets where they have become technically void except for the Club honouring them in goodwill. During that time like many, I still chose to pay on the gate as better than seeing club struggle.
It is fair to ask how this is being funded, but I think it also fair to understand that presently we do have a club that is being run far better and within its means for arguably many many years previous...
Worth everyone trying to keep postings balanced, yes hard to do at times but we are on same side, so let's not let a good gesture go to waste...I think off the back of the reduced price we are likely, if marketted right to see more lottery sales (great idea) and replica shirts...that's where the challenge lies

| Looks like a knee-jerk reaction post to me and I hope Carl is now regretting it.
S-O, like the rest of us, just wants a little stability for the club. I can understand his concerns and, as has been said, his chief concern has been the standard of officiating, not how the club is being run. Congratulations to you on turning the club's financial fortunes around, Carl and team.
My grouch was and still is the one-man rugby we were, and apparently are still, dishing up.
I'm tempted by the offer, although am a bit reticent because I've failed to ignite the enthusiasm of my offspring and haven't attended for some considerable time now.
I will pencil 22nd August down in my diary now though and, just for once, they may have to indulge Dad
Is anything going to be done as regards a collection for Gary Purdham's family at the game btw?

Sunday 22nd August 2010 - KO 3.00 pm
at the Keepmoat Stadium
The Dons are going back to 50's for the final League game of the 2010 season.
We are holding a big celebration for our last home game against Workington on the 22nd August, on a Fifties theme to encompass our Heritage Project.
The commemorate the occasion, the Club has produced a one-off replica 1950's playing kit in which the the Dons will play and which will then be auctioned to the fans after the game.'"
Maybe also us fans can help make the occasion by turning up in our oldest shirt and lets see as many different Doncaster shirts as possible even the dragons and lakers ones.

I'll probably have one of my old Dons ones on, and, I'll have a wander round pre-game to see how many shirts there are that I can get a photo of.

| A suit over a Dons shirt would be cool.
