| TAKEN FROM THE OTHER FANS FORUMgreat second half display by the boys in the face of some very underhand stuff from dirty donny ,'" ]haha wot a jokerQuote: "]'" ] thought Benno was a bit daft with the spear tackle , could prove costly for him , but no wonder young Tom retaliated , think i,d of been ed of if someone was trying to remove my head , something Donny seemed to be very adept at . listened to Dave Woods on RADIO YORK seemed happy with the display , we have some promising youngsters in the squad who under Mr Woods can only get better , Jack Stearman & Luke Hardbottle being two good examples , think the future is quite bright smile.gif smile.gif

| Enjoyed the game especialy the first half into a very strong wind. The second half was marred by a few bad handling mistakes and a poor penalty count not helped by a poor referee who pulled the Dons up on petty decisions and York never pulled up once for off side which got embarrasing at one point. The scoreline flattered York in my opinion but the Dons faded in the second half although never gave up .

| Decent first half but the second half was pretty dire although the man-in-the-middle made a number of mystifying decisions.
A number of questions / comments from today ...
1. Team selection ... I take it there were half at least three or four players unavailable today? There must have been because otherwise you wouldn't pick that 17.
2. Substitutions ... It doesn't matter how long a player has been at the Club or how popular he is, when he has had the ball twice in the space of 2 minutes midway through the second half and put it on the floor on both occasions and is looking out-of-sorts, don't leave him on the pitch to miss a tackle in our defensive line when defending the tryline! (Ironically a substitution was made just after the ball was coughed-up the second time but the struggling player remained to be targetted by the opposition).
3. Mr Roby ... What the hell was he doing today? He seems to have invented a new offence where you cannot tackle round the ankle judging from the repeated times we were apparently penalised for it! His decision making was bizarre and his communication worse!
4. Officials ... If a touch judge feels the need to raise their flag and come onto the pitch why do we end up with an 'on report'? That touch judge either has seen something or they haven't and if they haven't why raise the flag and enter the field of play?
5. Alex Benson ... Grow up! If you are not embarrassed by both the spear tackle and your reaction at the end of the game then you still have a lot of growing up to do! Disappointing from a player who was well-respected during his time with the Dons.

| I thought it was a good game, Donny played very well up to the last 15 mins when a little bit of indisipline crept in and spoilt whay was a really good performance against a better team ( not a million miles better though )

| Thought we played oktoday to be honest. The referee wasnt consistant at all. if hes going to pull us up for stuff then at least he has to do the same with York. Aaron Henry made some great runs looking for the chip over the top and I thought he did well today.
Disgraceful disrespectful york fans at the end though. Not that I expected any different however.

| Agreed, I was saddened by so many of our fans booing the Donny team off at full time. Sad to say we have a minority of foul mouthed unsporting fans, apologies from a true York fan.

| Referee was dreadful this afternoon, and it is no wonder players get frustrated with such inconsistencies.
At the end of the first half I thought we had the points in the bag, unfortunately forgot about Tonys half time team talk skills and it was quite obvious that we had no plan B to counter act the constant off sides.
Just what has Tommy Griffith s done wrong, to be stuck on the bench & then stuck out on the wing, never mind not playing Kesik either !!!

They still think of us as Dirty Donny....it's a label that is hard to get rid of.
I can remember the last time I went there and their right centre absolutely jumped all over Kyle Briggs (I think) and the ref gave York the penalty and the perpetrator then kicked the goal.
And the dandelions??
It's not a place I look forward to going to.....there was a bloke on the mike who used to actively encourage the Knights during the game. I always thought that was something that shouldn't have been allowed.

He'll have his reasons no doubt and to be fair offside is the refs job.
This side is completely different to the sad side that we started with......and I really think that the excuses for defeat need to stop. This is a side that should be in the top 7, but is consistently underachieving. OK we had a bad start, that's history now, we should be doing better than we are.
We need a better scrum-half.
We need to stop making excuses and start winning more games.
We are told that we will be a force next year with this side. Why would that be the case, since this side can't beat anyone away from home? Our away record is rubbish...and one of the reasons I have stopped going to away games.
Scrum-half has always been our weakest position in recent times.
Get a quality scrum-half Miller and let's get moving.
COYD
Sorry if I have offended anyone, but I am really disappointed.

| That must be one of the worst refereeing performances of the last decade!
Admittedly we lost it a bit towards the end but the ref caused this by not having any control from the off. He coiuld not control a five year olds birthday party!

It's certainly up there.
Such a pity after a decent performance from a ref last week.
I can see why people are becoming disillusioned with watching the sport at our level with performances from officials like that one yesterday!

They guess things, that's what's wrong with refs.
They give penalties for not playing the ball correctly against players who are clearly being pushed and pulled.
And when a ball shoots out of a tackle at a zillion miles an hour, that's automatically because they have dropped it. Is the acceleration due to gravity that high...that it would propel a ball to that speed in the space of 2 or 3 feet??
They don't look down the line for offside, because they daren't.
Etc etc
I used to leave games when I thought we had given up.....I often leave games now because I feel the ref has interfered at a critical time in a good, even match and tipped the balance and spoiled the game. I usually only do this when it goes against the Dons though
But I have watched games on telly and thought exactly the same....that the ref has stuck his oar in with a couple of crap decisions and robbed one of the sides of the game. So what was going to be a thrilling finish is all over with 20 minutes left.
So players get frustrated and the situation gets worse for them.

| The ref yesterday obviously had a neck problem as his head would not turn right to see the York players stood two yards in front of him.

What else do you expect from the referees when the man in charge of them is Stuart Cummins who in my opinion was one of the worst ever officals to referee the game remember the Dons away game at Featherstone in the Big League in the 1990's there was no way Mr Cummins was going to let the Dons win that game John Sheridan used to call him "Twister Cummins"
