That said one or two others didn't perform today.
Not one grubber kick on last tackle just an easy lob through to there defence. Was this player choice or coaches instruction?
We desparately need Edwards back as Brown aint no stand off.'"
Who was no5?? was it Collins??

Yes.
In summing up a good headline might be.....
'Hunslet have got the March brothers...and Doncaster have got the Marx brothers'.
Happy days.....roll on Sunday.

| Yet again our weaknesses outwide were exploited, neither Collins or King are upto this standard, hopefully Henry and Osbourne are available for selection on Monday.
But above all, when i come away from a game questioning our players passion and pride in wearing a Dons shirt, i wonder whats wrong.
Is it too much to asking for some consistancy? the hunger and desire shown against York was not there today. Why?
I wasnt expecting a win today, but i did expect us to compete, but sadly we didnt!!!!
MOM for dons - Craig Lawton great work rate

Yes....I thought Craig worked his butt of....well certainly in the first half....I didn't watch the second half.
I said so to Wanderer.....he wasn't so impressed.
But I thought Craig tackled like a demon.
Hunslet must have been laughing though, particularly Marchy.....he could have chipped quite happily to Price all day long knowing there was virtually nobody at home.
I thought we had bad luck for their first try with all the tip-tapping that fell perfectly for March and the one that bounced badly under the sticks for Collins and perfectly for Kain.
But having said that...you make your own luck and Hunslet did just that.

| Thought both these wingers had decent games against York in attack, but as already been said the defence outside has been poor for sometime now, Don't think its just down to the wingers though IMO Gomersall carrys the ball up strong but his defence is dire at times and teams have exposed his flank in almost every game so far.

They've all got some potential.....but I am not sure some are big enough physically....they looked lightweight against some bigger faster guys today.
And some looked lightweight against York even though they won.
The rltable.rl
It's easy to see that our poor defence is crippling us.

| Hi guys, i didnt attend the game today but my dad did ( my brother plays for you), he said it was a truly shocking performance and very few of the players can hold their heads up high and say they did their best today. It was known last season hunslet were saving money to have a real go at promotion this season and a wealthy supporter has put money into them this season. Simple facts are theyve still got players who could play in superleague and sadly donny have got some kids who should be playing in yorkshire league( i dont mean that in a nasty way). To get upset about the performance is acceptable but these lads probably had one eye on the next game which is winnable something which todays game wasnt as most people would appreciate. To call for the coachs head because youve lost to hunslet makes no sense to me being an outsider, be patient and good things will happen to the club again, wether it be this season or next.

To be honest the table as it stands today shows us third from bottom with the third worst defence and only two attacks less potent than ours. I'd say on both counts it's a fair reflection.
Our next two games however are against the bottom two so in theory a chance to improve those stats.

Sorry but every game is winnable-- maybe highly unlikely but winnable none the less.
If the lads went into today's game believing they couldn't possibly win it then they'd already gifted the game to Hunslet before the kick-off.
And it will certainly not have built their confidence up going into Mondays game against London.

Errrrm.........I mean Monday.
As for targeting games that are winnable....that may be a policy for avoiding relegation.....but we aren't in that situation.
We are trying to get the crowds back and must compete in every game.
We started off fine, but threw the game away with silly penalties...all the pressure came off Hunslet and they could afford to play inventive rugby and as a result score even more.
The trick was surely to keep it tight for as long as possible and then Hunslet might have had doubts and we might have had a chance. You can't do that when you are in effect pinning yourself in your own half by giving away territory.
Barmy.

Agree nobody probably expected them to win, however what a supporter does expect is effort, comitment and pride in pullling on a Donny shirt, i don't buy into looking at the next game as they should be playing for their shirt every game and today will hardly give them confidence for Monday. No one minds a defeat as long as the efforts there.

To be fair they did look like they expected to lose soon as the first whistle went. May be next time they could let the supporters know they are nt going to try and we could all save our money. If a coach cannot rouse his team to show a little interest in the game is it any wonder that the fans feel the way they do.
I suppose we the supporters can only hope that they feel that they can win the next 2 games and will grace the Keepmoat with some effort.

| We've had some horrendous refs home and away.....but at least they are consistent in penalising the Dons.
So who is it? .....the refs or the Dons?
A bit of both obviously, but the balance of evidence is obvious and it's costing us irrespective of whether our players are good enough.
Sort it out Miller please?
