I expect them to be upset, angry, disillusioned etc
(quite understandably).

Its been dying for a few years Gary.
It had the heart ripped out of it on the day we moved to the Keepmoat. If we could have a little stadium that wasn't as dwarfing as the Keepmoat is for us, and still manage to compete properly then I'd be happy. We're never going to be world beaters, but if we can just compete at our level, then I'm sure other fans would be just as pleased. I've had some excellent days following the Dons, and would hate for this to end.

Indeed. I don't think anyone expected a fantastic season but Saturday was dire.
I too have had some fantastic times following the Club and hope that it can continue.

| Peter Roe would be a start, not as old as people think he is, and always got clubs with little money playing attractive rugby, something I m struggling to think the last time I saw regularly at Donny.
Singe only managed it because he spent a fortune.

| A very good shout there on Peter Roe.
Also a very similar coach to Tony Fisher ie a hairdryer one and I think sometimes players need that, keep TM on as the good cop in the duo.

| Been reading your points and following the clubs progress with interest.
As a genuine question, no trolling whatsoever, just for my own personal understanding, is it purely the fact that you've been left with little or no money that is inhibitting progress.
You looked quite lively in the pre-season friendly against us. I thought it would be a season of slight promise.
Do you feel that Tony Miller should be able to do a better job even with the meager resources at his disposal and that he is almost accepting the inevitable now and that someone fresh would be better, or is that not fair?
I never like it when coaches say 'we were out enthused'
Anyway tell me to mind my own business if you like just interested to know what you think.

Possibly. The Club certainly doesn't have pots of money. We have however been assured that the business plan is sound and that a squad capable of competing in Championship One would be assembled.

The supporters who follow the Club week-in week-out are realistic. I think the majority felt that it would be a season of consolidation and if we won some of our home games and didn't finish in the bottom 2 or 3 in the division and got through the season with the squad in tact that would be considered a success and something to build on next season.

We have been unlucky with one or two key players picking up injuries. That said, we were soundly beaten at Rochdale and humiliated at home to Siddal. I think it is fair to say that the manner of the latter defeat certainly does cast a very large shadow over Tony and how he is perceived by the supporters.

Peter Roe and Dave Woods are of interest, more so Peter because he did a good job at his previous clubs and has a lot of contact in the rugby world, his players always played with aggression and passion, but that decision is out of our hands.

| Whilst I accept that people will speculate, to the best of my knowledge we aren't currently in the market for a new Coach and as has been stated above it is out of the supporters hands anyway.
If it turns out we are in the market for a new Coach then yes there are some possibles out there already who spring to mind.

| The answer, damm I don't have a quick one, I posted on another thread on the site read that onefor the history. Doncaster RLFC has passion even when we were sh*t we still had people at the games. I have supported them through thick and thin home and away. The one thing that a friend of mine always said (he's ex marketing director of Bramley) you got a greatclub with great fans run by as*holes. We offered suggestions to market the club better they fell on deaf ears (Singe thought they were great btw)
The fans have the passion in Doncaster, some are fair weather fans but we always counted on 1500 good loyal fans who would support the team. We also figured we could get average gates up to 2500 with a little effort and had a marketing plan in to do that we presented it to the previous owners and they binned it. He left u in the s**t. Product on the field is essential, recent results are not encouraging in that respect. We need effort on two fronts, I posted my e mail on another thread and won't repeat it here, we can help, the people I know have experience and will do this for little reward as they love the club. Contact us and we will talk more.

Two facts to bear in mind (and I don't make these statements lightly) ...
1) The 1500 is now 200.
2) There is little or no product on the field and therefore sadly, very little which can be promoted / marketed.
Oh how I wish this wasn't the case.

As staunch supporters, we are obviously desperate that the Club survives and ideally prospers. We certainly do not want to be a passionless Club and would love to see the return of some of the 'lost' hundreds.
