Away from the festival, the Tut had the outstanding Joules Slumbering Monk 4.5% last night. It's been a while but was well worth the wait.

Tuesday 15 March;

Hillsborough;
The Rawson Spring - Dark Star Revelation 5.7%, a Strong Ale, golden in colour with malt and fruit in the taste.

Sheffield;
Bankers Draft - Robinsons Trooper 666 6.6%, a Strong Ale version of the Iron Maiden brew, deep golden and a mixture of malt, hop and citrus flavours.
Sheffield Waterworks - Pheasantry Best Bitter 3.8%, a familiar favourite in local Wetherspoons and very nice it is too.
The Benjamin Huntsman -
Lancaster Admiral Archer 4.2%, a fruity Golden Ale.
Mauldons White Adder 5.3%, a Strong Ale, golden and fruity.
Wharfebank Crimson Rambler 4.8%, a malty ruby coloured Premium Bitter - very nice indeed.
Hanlons Port Stout 4.8%, a Stout packed with Chocolate malts and flavoured with Ruby Port - also very enjoyable.

The Red Lion, Doncaster;
Birrificio Italiano Bibock 6.2%, a Strong Ale brewed at Wadworth Brewery for the JDW Festival.
(the fifth and final International ale).

Becketts Bank, Leeds;
Hawkshead Vienna Lager 5.0%, referred to as a Speciality / Cask Lager, this beer has been brewed exclusively for the Festival.
Sambrook's Red Ale 4.2%, brewed in the style of an American red ale but classed as a Best Bitter.

Highlights of a weekend in Cambridge;

Purity Pure UBU 4.5% in the Champion of the Thames
Cambridge Brewing Co Kings Parade 3.8% in the Cambridge Brewhouse
Joules Slumbering Monk 4.5% in the Baron of Beef
Old Brown Mouse Three Blind Mice 4.2% & Siren Liquid Mistress 5.8% in the Pint Shop

Saturday 19 March;

The Regal, Cambridge;
Wadworth 6X Gold 4.5%, a Golden Ale, very citrus flavoured.
Oakham St Bibiana 4.5%, this Best Bitter was a late 'festival' replacement for an RCH brew which was unavailable as a result of a fire at the brewery.

Sunday 20 March;

The Regal, Cambridge;
Inveralmond Amber Bead 4.1%, a Speciality Honey Ale and the best of the three over the weekend.

The three legs beer festival takes place at the doncaster brewery l, corner pin and white swan Friday to Sunday.
Look out for the doncaster brewery charter at 5.5% its a dark ale which goes down too well... very nice.

Wednesday 23 March;

Hillsborough;
The Rawson Spring -
Otter Fusion 4.8%, a Premium Bitter, winter-warmer style with spices.
Mordue Wheat 4.5%, a Speciality Wheat Beer, golden in colour.

Sheffield;
The Swim Inn - Orkney Norseman 4.4%, a citrusy Best Bitter.
Bankers Draft -
Marston's El Dorado 4.0%, another citrus-flavoured Best Bitter.
Wolf Spring Ale 4.3%, a fruity Golden Ale.
Sheffield Waterworks - Hook Norton Crafty Fox 5.0%, a red Premium Bitter.
The Benjamin Huntsman - Rudgate Ruby Mild 4.4%, described as a Mild, this rich / nutty ale is always a winner.

Bluecoat, Rotherham - Celt Experience The Afanc 4.5%, a red IPA described as a Premium Bitter.

Saturday 26 March;

Bankers Draft, Sheffield - Wood's Redwood 4.2%, a Best Bitter in a red IPA-style, slightly too heavy on the fruit for me.

Hook Norton Crafty Fox in the Swim Inn (already previously sampled as part of the JDW festival) and Fuggle Bunny Jammy Dodger 4.5% a delicious ruby red ale with liquorice, blackcurrant and caramel flavours.

Monday 28 March;

Gatehouse, Doncaster - Hilden Mill Street 5.5%, an amber coloured IPA.

Still 5 short and almost out of time.

If anyone can do it you can. Good luck on the last five, says someone who has not had a drink for six weeks.

Tuesday 29 March;

Waterworks, Sheffield - Batemans Dark Lord 4.4%, this brown-coloured Best Bitter, slightly nutty in flavour is another winner from the Lincs brewery.
Bankers Draft, Sheffield - Long Man Session IPA 3.8%, a gold-coloured Bitter, very citrusy.
Bluecoat, Rotherham - Nottingham Trentsman 4.7%, a deep golden Premium Bitter, smoother than the Long Man brew.
