I agree that any league that doesn't involve playing each team at home and away is fundamentally flawed.

The top team goes up automatically and teams two to five play off for the other promotion place. We can't do anything about the way the fixtures have fallen but as long as we get into the top five, we'll be in the mix at the end of the season.

I'd never advocate anything other than going out to win every game because if we do we'll be champions but the odds of us finishing top is probably about 6/1. The important thing is to make sure we peak for the play offs as that is realistically the most likely way we'll get promoted.

Give me a league where everyone plays each other home and away any day but given what we've got, we need to get a top five finish (preferably top three) and be at our best when it really matters.

Dean is great prospect, a few would like to see him in front of Abdul at Hull in the first team, different type of player to Abdul, really quick and great support play, scores trys for full at youth level.

Turgut is a good player, he has been playing centre for the reserves but his best position is backrow, where he has captained England Academy team.

We may see Justin at centre and Doherty on one wing .

Thanks for the update Dave. Hope the lad (Dean) goes well if he gets a game. Abdul did not appear to win over many of your fans IMO on Thursday at Widnes.

TBH Abdul did not win me over against North Wales - I liked the look of Dean in the friendly though iirc he was the half back playing with Pryce at the start.

I know Braham has been great at the start of games but I'm thinking an injection of his pace along with Cross' could be good coming off the bench. I've put Turgtut in his best position to maximise his impact. Doherty was very strong at Centre in pre season so I've left him there. Matty seemed to have sorted his high kick problem judging by a couple of weeks ago and always does well going forwards.

I've put Carr at Fullback as I feel he is better at the fancier stuff where the fullback acts like an extra halfback on moves where the ball is spread and Sheriff's game is all about hitting the line at full tilt bringing it back from deep - which he can do just as well from the wing imho.

Foster dropped as going for size due to a small pitch. Kept Milton for his offloads and he ran Cross close last week for motm imo.
No second rower on bench as Nicholson and Braham can both play there and one should off bench on a smaller pitch.

Interesting selection Adam , hadn't thought about Sheriff on the wing .
