Just listened to ITD nothing to inspire confidence in next season. Appears we should be grateful we have a club on a sound financial footing under Club Doncaster that has great desire for the club to succeed. Seems we are keeping the nucleus of the current squad and the 24/25 year olds will be the backbone of the club in TWO YEARS time. The club has a plan which it is working towards so basically no change there,it is just the same old spin and the aspiration to succeed gets pushed back another year. In addition we should be grateful for the work GT puts in along with the backroom staff but isn't that what they get paid for like many others. No mention of the surprises hinted at last week but some expectancy of marquee signings,presumably players at the end of their careers good enough for half an hour a game. No mention of it being a disappointing season and having to play in this poor division again,just the same old drivel and the same old straws for fans to cling on to. Pathetic.

I actually thought he was being realistic, not the super league bit, but about the state of the game. It's on it's knees and needs change, just not sure the RFL can deliver it. Even though last season was disappointing, I agree with Carl about having a club that is sound, there's a few who would swap places. I respect what your saying tatty field, I just don't agree with some of if, everyone is different.

I thought that was a good interview from Carl, I have always liked the bloke and I know he is Donny rugby through and through.

It is not all more of the same, Carl hints at full time players down the line. That surely is a sign of intent, particularly given the dangers of such a move with a finite fan base. What happened at Sheffield this year demonstrates the gamble that failed.

I could have written a lot of what Carl said, it's not rocket science.

But the main thing is, is I believe him.

Alternative views are respected but only time will tell.

Incidentally S.O. this is one of your recent posts about why interest in the Dons appears to be in decline.

Fair play, I can see where you are coming from.
I am probably the harshest critic of the recent Dons set-up and I mean what I say.
But I believe Carl's heart is in the right place.
Whether he is fooling himself is a separate issue.
Don't hang your boots up please ... we all range from delight to despair as Dons supporters.
I do.
But something keeps me here despite the fact we are seemingly going nowhere.

After serious consideration:-

I applaud the 2 year deals . Lets hope the CEO's vision for the future comes off .

re, Carls ITD I think one of the most important points he made was the fact that the "dons" are financialy secure and that quite a few clubs would like to be in our position. Of all the problems we have had this season at least (as far as we know) money is not one of them, The fact that we are signing players on a contract is pleasing, Ive seen the offer on season tickets which is Ok but unless the RL sort out the fixtures I cant see many being sold, if you miss a couple of matches then you lose out. Lets hope we here some more good news re, signings over the next few weeks I hope the Nichloson bros, sign , I think they are both quality players.

I think the fixture format is a big problem.

Sheffield could also be in our division if they have to go into administration before they get new owners . The very future of York is a doubt . If Barrow beat Toulouse tomorrow what will the RFL do then !

Who knows , watch this space !

The C1 clubs MUST stand up to the RFL & not vote for a stupid format again in 2017.

I think barrow have a good chance with there form good luck to them tomorrow having to go to France as well.

watched ITDO today I think the player to re,sign and be announced tomorrow will either be connor scott or maybe jason tali, possibly matt nicholson, anyone else wanna throw their hat in the ring. Re the pre match entertainment, over the years we have all sorts from people bouncing around on springs , stilt walkers dancing ladies, dancing kids, kids playing tag rugby but what do the fans really want to see. Never mind what CH looks like,it's now 4.45 pm and there has been no announcement of the name of the player that has signed back on for next season, despite the attention of a Super League and a Championship club.Maybe he had supped a few too many poolside pina coladas when he made the statement.
