| A real shame Lee always seemed to give his all on the pitch and was a menace to any defence he played against.
You could always rely on Lee for a bit of magic to either setup or score a try something at this difficult time we really need I would hope we are going to replace him with someone of similar caliber....I have a feeling we may see him in an opposition shirt before the end of the season tho.

| A massive blow, he looked annoyed Sunday that he had been dropped for showing passion, I can see others following, team spirit which was the main part of last seasons success looks dead in the water, can see a few more gone before we play our next game, this season is going from bad to worse, it is going to take massive investment for us to stay up.
I can see players who agree with lee following him in support, hope to see him back in a Dons shirt soon.

| If the real reason is other than his work or other commitments then the dons deserve everything they get this season, its well known he has struggled with fitness levels over the years but he is a game changer and with his ability to break the line and make things happen this decision is really head scratching. I don't know everything that happens behind the scenes but considering how clueless we have looked when in the opponents 20 letting go of a guy who knows where the line is and has a great offloading game seems crazy but hey us fans are only the small fish in a big pond! over to you messiahs cooke and hall please show the passion and loyalty we fans do travelling up and down the country supporting week in week out. | Lee always made a difference when he played for us. He gave 100% all of the time and would run through a brick wall for the team.
I recall a moment after he'd been injured last season, when warming up for his first game back in the cup game at Aldershot, he said to himself, "It's great to be back." That just typified his commitment.
Good luck for the future mate. You'd have always been the first name I'd put down on the team sheet.

| Seems bizarre that one of our consistent performers hasn't had more game time this year. Obviously I don't know what the position has been with injuries but can't believe it's been a result of the form of anyone else keeping him out.
Always expected him to make a switch to 2nd row at some stage.
Good luck & thanks for your efforts in a Donny shirt.

| Lee's just posted this on Facebook
Thanks people, I would just like to thank u all for the years I have had at donny I've loved them all and your a top set of fans, the reason I asked for a release is cause I had feel out of love for the game and I didn't get the buzz what I use to get, it's got nothing to do with losing every week cause that doesn't bother me one bit, it was the fact I didn't get the feeling I did for the game, and felt it was out of order me been there when there are young kids who I am playing in front of and it wasn't fair, so all am going to do for this year is go back to skirlaugh and play with my mates from hull and start enjoying it again and hopefully get the buzz back I once had, and who nos what will happen mite see u all again in the future, but once again thank u for some amazing years love ya all
There's something seriously not right somewhere.
I wish lee well, Allways gave 100% when he put the shirt on and wanted the best for the club.

| Hi peeps, Ive not posted for a while for several reasons mainly all the thoughts and opinions about this season have been said many times by many people so no point repeating them, Also there has been so much bitching on here its been more like a kids playground than an adult rugby forum. Im totally Gutted to see that we have let a player of Lee Watermans quality leave the club , all season l have been keeping the faith turning up to all the games only to go home disappointed. Now this has happened. We really do need some info from the club to show there is light at the end of the tunnel, I was talking to Lee at half time and l could tell he was,nt right he said he did,nt know why he was dropped as he was fit to play. I think he has been one of the most committed and stand out players since he arrived at the club. I have been suffering as a Dons fan many many heart breaking times from tattersfield to the dog track Bell View and now at the Keepmoat, but never before have l felt as l do now. Im glad we have a week off this weekend hopefully the club will give us some good news (don't hold your breath) about the future. see you all at the Bulls game bring a calculator you will need it to keep the score, Last but not least very best wishes to Lee he will be snapped up by someone will miss my chats with his mum too.

| Gutted and will put off telling my grandson who will be devastated at the loss of his rugby idol and the main reason for his following rugby and the Dons. All the best Lee and thanks for the great memories you leave behind.

| what do people expect when he's not getting picked.
As i've mentioned on other posts he's the best, most effective dangerous player we have, and if he had played against Batley, and dewsbury i think we would have had 4pts on the board.
Good side can't handle him most of the time and those 2 sides certainly wouldn't have cos they weren't good enough.
All the best Lee Thanks for what you did for us and good luck.
hope to see you back with us maybe sometime CHEERS

| Thought he earned the right to the no 4 jersey for life after breaking try record but was given no 11 when even if plan was to play him in second row he could have kept the number. But this year to be no 19 was unbelievable and yet he still gave it his all. Perhaps he will link up with Cunningham at York for a formidable centre partnership. Still hard to believe the first player I looked for on the team sheet will not be there.

| Think all posts regarding lee have been spot on, you can teach many things in rugby league but being able to beat a player and make a line break from nothing is an art form and thats what he did best. might be a bit ott but had a super league team picked him up at 18 or 19 we would of been looking at one hell of a player
