| Another forty odd points scored at home but where are the fans?
The club and players are busting a gut to give us a genuine promtion contending team only to be rewarded with a paltry attendance of 606!
Come on sports fans of Donny get off your backsides and support the Dons! It's not as if you can say it's expensive.

| Would have been there myself yesterday but my lad prefers kick-and-clap . To be honest, I think he's a bit wary after seeing numerous poor performances in the past. He's going to the London game come hell or high water
I've come back myself this year after a couple of seasons of disillusionment with the style of football. Am pleased to note that there is much less reliance on one-man rugby this season and will be back again as often as I can.

| To be able to watch what we are seeing for a tenner is brilliant value. and the facilities are top notch. I would think it's being in this division that keeps some away, just an opinion of course, hopefully with a promotion and the opposition it brings crowds will appear

| We got about 781(IIRC) vs Whitehaven ,which should be our base line. And with a view to a thousand at top games, like vs Oldham in three games time.
So to get 606 after a good win against Sharlston was a big disappointment.
But the reason is we were crap against Barrow.
It's as simple as that.
The first major test and we failed miserably.
That's all the stay-aways look at, and quite rightly in a way.
Ignoring the Bulls game, we have GOT TO beat London and Gateshead and then not do the age old Dons thing of letting Rochdale come here and spoil the party.
If that is achieved, we will see the results in the Oldham attendance which ought to be around a thousand.
It's up to the Dons, but that's what it will take.

| need to be winning vast majority of home games, if not all, and make sure visitors dont pick up a bonus point, could be important in the count up. Judging by recent results london should be a stiffer test than south wales, but those of you who have seen them before will know more than me, but i'm expecting a decent win. confidence should be high

| 1) To outsiders or fringe fans a start of 2 wins from 6 games doesn't look good, whatever the circumstances - plus some people ( like my son ) have long memories of under-achievement in the past.
2) Similarly, a heavy defeat by the Bulls won't help either,
Bearing the above in mind, I think a crowd of 606 versus a side who will not have brought more than a few supporters, is not a bad effort by the people of Doncaster, notwithstanding the wretched state of the local economy.
Something else to consider is that we don't have a home game for six weeks in the not-too-distant future. Not enough fixtures! People will just get used to turning up and the season will be over.
The promotion team are doing a grand job; my email inbox is testament to that. Can't fault them, but there is only so much money to go around. RL isn't high on the local populous' must-do list.

| I have returned to the fold this year and have enjoyed the 3 games I have attended.
So much so that I am bringing my Father-in-Law to the game on Friday it will be his second only RL game, the last time he went to one was the infamous Castleford game at the launch of the Lakers era.
I might also be bringing a work colleague who is a rar-rar fan who believes RL is 4 drives and a punt down field, so hopefully if we play with the style we have been doing he make change his opinions.
I also have a chance of bringing a friend who has never seen a live RL or RU game before and would be traveling up from Peterborough for the afternoon.
I have consistently tried to get my dad back into the game as the Dons are serving up some decent rugby at the moment but he's just lost all interest in the game.

| Can't we get onto the Free Press/Star and give them some sort of story to help fill up the pages asking 'Where are the fans?' or 'Look at what you're missing?'
If we don't tell them, they won't print it!

| The people who visit this forum are the die-hard loyal fans, in the main, I would imagine.
The issue is how to get the other good folk of Donny down to the games. What has happened in the past is no excuse for anyone not to attend.
We have a team that does their best; we have a club that are listening to the fans; we have a class player in Paul Cooke to lead us around the field;we have some exciting players like Mark Castle, Lee Waterman, and that slow chap on the wing, to name a few!
We have performed well in the two home leagues games played so far. What more do people expect? (Apart from being able to park in the car park for less than £4?!)
We need to get the video highlights of the games on the website and on You Tube. This must be used as a major marketing tool as it is the only way to show people what they're missing.
If DonsNews want to get in touch with me, I'll let him know a very cheap and easy way to get the video issue sorted.
The Good Friday game won't be easy but let's hope the lads can stack up a few points to tempt the stay-aways back ...

They need to get a camera behind the posts at the end they're attacking as well, as you see how well some of the moves come off too.

I think that DonsNews is doing a great job already and will already have that base covered.
We are well represented in the Free Press from what I have seen.
'Where are the fans?' is never a good headline for a club to go with, it is psychologically all wrong and akin to pleading and an admission of failure, which is seen as weak.
Better just to highlight the fantastic rugby being served up by the Dons and that we are going places and that people ARE coming down to see the Dons and that the reader should come along as well and see for themselves just how great it is.
Positive stuff from the management and from the coaching staff is what I like to see in the paper.
We are doing well, let's say so!
That is one ace side when it clicks!

| Compared to times in the past though, it is great to see that everyone involved in the club is pulling in the same direction, from the fans to the players and the management. The phrase, 'Build it, and they will come' is a great one, but, I think we're still in the process of trying to build the club. We've got a great foundation, with the management behind the club, and the players are beginning to build what can only be described as a substantial structure to go forward on (Which, all of us fans are always happy to see), that needs to continue, and the fans will begin to come back.
This may not be immediate, but, at the end of last season, John Scarrow said that we'd had a large increase on the average attendance. Should we get the same increase, we'll be well on our way.
