| Does any one know what our average attendance has been so far this season?
Am i correct in thinking that the club said we needed 300 to break even at the beginning of the year?
I would have thought that they are quite a bit better than since the dark day of 192 against Blackpool.
Hopefully next season we can progress, especially with the excellent ST offer from the club.

| Our average attendance this season in the league has been 509. Which puts us 6th out of the 11 clubs in the division.

It could have been worse after the Siddal match but thankfully things started picking up shortly after that.

There is plenty of potential to increase the attendances as 288,854 people reside in the 112,739 households within the metropolitan borough of Doncaster

The problem is to get these people off their backsides and from in front of reality tv and get outside in the fresh air!
Maybe we should target schools with free tickets etc.

| it WOULD be great to get people get off their backsides and on to the terraces and if the figure of 509 as an average is correct then that is great !
what I would like to try to do is to try to persuade a small percentage of these die-hards to go a bit further and sponsor a player - it's not expensive over a year, not even a packet of fags each week so why not make the effort next season ? I can't believe only SIX people made the effort this year !

What? Try and take even more money from those diehards who probably contribute all they can.
Here's a better suggestion ... let's cast the net further and get others spending with the Club ... you can only go to the well so many times before it runs dry!

| still can't believe only six sponsors can be bothered to make the effort - I know times are hard but when I read all the messages concerning 'more tales of real ale' etc etc just imagine if all you alcodonnies drank just ONE pint less on the pub crawl per week ,this could help pay a sponsorship !
I earn the minimum wage, run a house plus missus plus car & kids etc so if I can manage to find a yearly subscription to a championship side PLUS sponsorship of a Dons player PLUS the Dons lottery each week then so can many others out there in Donnyland !
Come on you lads, cut the excuses !

Well lets give sanjunien a so the money i spent going to support the lads in Wales and France and most other away games this year should have been diverted to a player sponsorship, so i will now not attend these games and support the lads..... WHY because we need a player to be sponsored.
Or shall i not pay monthly into the supporters trust who sponsored Sean Leaf this year and also sponsors the player of the month at £100 per month, and i will direct the money away from there just to sponsor a player.

actually it was 5.58am in France if you bothered to check the location - I start work at 0600am uk time which is obviously 0700 am french time
thanks for the applause rugbyman,it's nice to be appreciated - did the Dons play in france this season ? or did I miss something ? I saw them get well and truly stuffed LAST season in Toulouse (which cost ME a fortune also !) but it was worth all the effort if only to see the lads break their duck in the last minute - on the other hand, making the long trek to Wales must have been traumatic - can't imagine anything worse, you must have been completely exhausted...
the fact remains - ONLY SIX PEOPLE BOTHERED TO SPONSOR A DONNY PLAYER !

Dragonfan dont forget to check the location next time you post, even though the location could be a lie and then you get sarcastic comments.
My My another person preaching to the fans who already support the club home and away. You seemed to know when we played in France and i was there and the time before, so there is no point coming on here preaching to us who already pay out for home and away games, and all the other stuff in between.
But maybe you don't know the effort that the supporters trust has put in over the last season, unless of course you have been involved in it, and have signed up to the trust and make regular monthly payments into it. Funny how i do not remember someone from France signing up when looking at the membership but it could be from a different address..
When i work 6 days per week and dedicate my Sunday for 7-8 hours traveling to wales to support the lads then it does make it exhausting, was you there by the way?? by the way its not just the time traveling its the cost of it also.
Its not the people on here who you want to be targeting its the stay away fans.
Anyway you keep doing your bit and i will do my bit the way i want to do it.
It always makes me wonder why we always get some random poster come on here every now and then and start preaching??
the fact remains - ONLY SIX PEOPLE BOTHERED TO SPONSOR A DONNY PLAYER
Anyway enough of this issue its starting to bore me.
