What would constitute a good performance?

Skolars have averaged 16.25 points in their home games. They've conceded, on average, 48.75 points. Their average loss has been 32.5 points.

Dewsbury, Hunslet, Oldham and Workington won by an average of 41.5 points when visiting London.

On that basis, winning by less than 30 would be a poor showing, winning by 40 would be a decent performance.

I wrote on the N Wales thread that no result would have surprised me considering our present form. This time, a defeat would be totally unacceptable and any win by less than 16 points would be very disappointing. A win by more than 30 would be encouraging although the benchmark set by the top teams means more than 40 would be needed to put us on a par with them.

What do you reckon? I'm going for a win by 20 to 24.

Anything less than a very resounding win by a clear margin will be very disappointing. A defeat is not an option should it happen (and I don't think its an unimaginable outcome) The club needs to take decisive action (not just signing overseas players who cannot play yet).

It reminds me of the last game I walked out of...home at Skolars...missed two of their tries.
I should never have gone back!

As only Midlands, Cornwall and Rochdale have failed to beat London by more than 30 points, the 30 point handicap is clearly indicative of the Dons being 'out of form'. We only beat Skolars by 30 at home and were in much better form at that time.

I'm sticking with my earlier post and taking the Dons to win by 20 to 24. For us to beat the Skybet handicap, I reckon London would need to implode and the Dons would have to play very well...

I wonder if either of the new guys might be available? I suppose that might make a difference.

Would be nice if they were available for the Dewsbury game... so we can gauge where we are at for the playoffs and maybe pinch 3rd place at the same time.

Oldham's rearranged game with Workington is being played on Wednesday 23rd August.

Unfortunately, from our point of view, Workington might be knackered when they play Hunslet on the following Sunday.

The last remaining fixture to be arranged - Rochdale v London - has been scheduled for Wednesday 23rd August.

All 10 teams will enter the last round on 27th August with one game left to play.
