Wasn't he signed as a player under Dons4Life? Were Dons4Life members told about this?

Dunno but if it allows for him to concentrate better on the team as a whole then good man.
Retiring never an easy decision to fair play to him.

Given that he only told Hally and the players last week, I would say no.

Including representative appearances, Cooke has 396 career appearances, scoring 68 tries, 546 goals and 9 drop goals.
He has made 86 appearances for the Dons, scoring 18 tries, 53 goals and 2 drop goals.

He has been a good player and coach in his time at the Dons but his poor recruiting and the teams lack of ideas on the pitch show that it is now time for Carl Hall to hand over the coaching to someone else. For a team to go 17 games without a win is just not good enough and a change is badly needed to get us out of this current predicament.

I wouldn't blame PC 100% for the recruitment problems , I think his hands may have been tied !

Think it's been on the cards for a while, I thought he might have retired at the end of last season,problems with his knees etc. Been a great player, enjoyed watching him. Shame, but if it gives him more time for coaching, all well and good.

I think pc has tried to carry the club on and off the pitch and i see this has a positive move that will allow him to focus fully on the coaching role.

For a start I'm not shouting at anybody but if you are going to quote me it would be a good idea to quote me correctly.Second as I said he has been good in his time as both a player and a coach so again get your facts right. I was as pleased as everyone else about the great season last year but he hasn't got a lifetime pass as coach. As I said in a quote re the Dewsbury game,the team have no idea in the opposition 25 on how to break down a defence,stand too deep across the back line and are too slow at the play the ball.Let alone the stupid mistakes and penalties given away.So instead of misquoting and having a go at me,why don't you realise like the many other supporters sat around me at the Dewsbury game who said the coaching is not good enough,come to terms with the fact that he is no longer up to it as a coach either.
