WHAT!!!!

That must be the best deal in RL!
Obviously the club must have cash in the bank to cover this. Ten out of ten for brave marketing, this needs to be pushed hard in the local press etc.

Well done to the club for this great offer for the last game, hopefully it will bring a few more through the gates to support the team.I think the season ticket offer for next season is certainly a bargain not to be missed.
Come on you DONS

This looks fantastic... well done to everyone at the club.

We really need to publicise this to get as many people down as possible.

My view on the season tickets is...despite the great offer...is that they are too cheap.
If everyone at the Worky game gets one....we will be in serious financial difficulties come half way through next season.
That's why this season I have been paying at the gate.....so the club gets more money from me and it is spread out over the season to help pay the bills.
It really is too cheap and IMO a daft idea!
£50....it's peanuts!
I paid that only yesterday for the privilege of watching my grandson play 16 games for Scawthorpe Scorpions. Kids under 8 yrs amateur football. Yet we would charge just the same to watch grown men play quality semi-professional rugby?

We are supposed to be running a business not a charity.
This view won't be popular I know..but have seen this all before.

I suprisingly find myself agreeing some what with SO. I am also concerned that this may cause problems down the road. I applaud the club for being pro-active and for looking to get more support through the gates.

Yeah....so do I, if it did bring in new supporters and extra money.
But all that usual happens is that the only people who buy these are the same people that would have bought a season ticket anyway at full price...but get one at a snip....which means the club LOSES money.

Hi it's Carl Hall here, I would just like to say Stand Offish you will be glad too know once again you haven't disappointed we held a sweep stake on Friday re you and one other who would be first to post a negitive fibe re the event we are putting on for the last game.

Let me just put a few things clear we sold just over 100 season tickets this year say they were all full price adult tickets @ £100 that makes us £10,000 if all those were to purchase at the special rate of £50 we would lose £5,000 this is really going to make us struggle next year, I think not if this was to happen I would put in the extra £5k myself.

1.What we are trying to do is thank our loyal supporters for sticking with us, the reason being the year before people purchased season tickets only for half way through the year having to watch a team of amatuers play for the club and we don't forget things like that, as a result of us having had a good year financially and are going to finish the season for the first time that I can remember with a + bank balance we wanted to give something back, on the other side of the coin if another 100 purchase at this price we would be over the moon.

2. As for going to struggle next year you will be delighted to know in our business plan we budgeted ZERO season ticket sales so any season tickets we sell is all clear profit.

3. To me it doesn't matter what we do you always seem to slag us off and to be honest I am sick too the back teeth of you this club needs to move on with out people like yourself, you go on about people like you purchasing tickets on match days to help the club only for you to leave before half-time, don't think there were to many games this year when you stayed the whole match, only then to come on here and where ever else you go and slag the club off, why don't you do us all a favour and call it a day. You are no true supporter you are a joke and not welcome.

4. To all the others who have phoned up saying you can't wait for this game to see the boy's play in the first ever Don's kit thank you very much, let me inform you all there will only be the 18 shirts made 1 to be framed and go up in club, the other 17 will going on Auction after the game to the east stand so stick around to bid for what will be a great collection item.

Thanks for everything this year we will progress next year on and off the field I can assure you all.

Carl.

Well thanks for that personal attack.............I hope you feel a lot better for it.
I won't dignify it by responding to it.
Apart from this...... this a fans forum where we can say what we like....stick to running the club eh?
I don't slag the club off....so don't say I do.
And do you seriously think that anything I say has one iota of influence on the success or otherwise of the Dons??

Right

First of all i think Carl has some valid points, i also think Stand Offish has some valid points, but having a go at one another is not the answer.

I have not been to game this year..mainly due to finance..but I have been a paying supporter for 10 years and a fan for 20. I shall go to the Workington game and hopefully get a ticket for next year.its cheap and a good deal....but...

Whilst i wouldn't speak for SO.and i should clarify right now for anyone who didn't know..i have to sit next to him at every game..(work it out)that back before the Keepmoat we did a 2 year season ticket deal for £120...what happened was we spent all the money up front an then were screwed for the remaining 18 months. So what i am saying is its easy to be sceptical.

I defense of SO he doesn't want to see the club go up slack alley, as far as am aware we live in a free country and if he wants to leave before the end its up to him (i personaly wouldn't) but its his choice.

I think when crowds are dipping to 300 we shouldnt have a go at the people who actually bother.

I tell SO all the time to be more positive and maybe he just might... but I think it's time everyone came together rather than what has just been said...it's the first time I have ever stuck up for him on this forum...so there you have it.

Although i must add what Carl is doing for the club is top notch, i just think anyone on planet earth must realize this is not utopia, and we need to work together no matter what the opinions.
