| On the evidence of today we are in for a long hard season. We could end up being totally embarrassed on Thursday in front of the cameras. Not one positive note from today, despite what TM may say.
A shocker

| Marker Defence was non existant.
We again looked like a bunch of blokes slung together the day before.
Mark Castle ran strong all game imo, also thought we looked to have a better half back link up when briggsy went off.The young lad weraring 26 did well for a debut.
Need a big week on the training paddock.

While I agree we were garbage, to say there was no positives is a bit harsh on Mark Castle who was great
I also thought Gaz Carey played well in the most part.
We were in for a long hard season well before today's game. We need start playing games like we do the first 10 and last 10 minutes. (If the league was based on last try winner I reckon we'd be sound). We also need a member of coaching staff who has ideas about game plans, link play and playing people in positions that benfit the side.

| i've said it a few times, and i'll say it again. tony miller must go, he never was is or will be a professional coach, assistant maybe, but coach, never. before its too late there needs to be a change imo
i cant even bring myself to the games anymore, so my opinion is tempered somewhat, but i do kno what i said at the start when miller was given the job..

Right on there Jemmo.
There was nothing to enthuse about...because we didn't play as a team...with every player knowing what to do.
I am not even sure that we targeted Gateshead's weak points (if they had any). It all looked a bit random to me.

| Todays game was just another example of how to turn returning fans awayIonly watched 2 games last year due to when games were played but I have watched 3 games this season but I think that is enough for me unless there are some changes.Got to agree that Mark Castle plays his heart out and that the half backs were better when Briggs went off.Too many players going through the motions without doing anything.I'm afraid there will have to be some better performances before I return

| We let Branighan run the show in the first half and we paid the price. He was superb IMO.We had a couple of warnings early on and didnt take any notice and he went on to put the game beyond doubt.
Must play better on Thursday or we will be embarrassed in front of our nearest rivals. We did look better in the last 15 minutes but by then Thunder were out of sight and probably took their foot off the gas.

| Having been a member of the old Askern Branch and a founding member of the Sun Inn branch which became the very successful Mallard supporters branch, having been a lottery agent with over 50 members and still having 40 today, having written many articles for the Club programme in the early 00's and been the official reporter for the Academy during the same period I have to say that today was a watershed.
Today, the penny dropped and I realised that I SIMPLY DON'T CARE ANYMORE. I couldn't wait to get out of the ground and find somewhere to watch some proper RL (Leeds v Saints).
It pains me to say it, but if thats as good as it gets, time is up!
I will expect (and no doubt get) some criticism for being so forthright but after today, no day will ever be primarily about the Dons again (I used to live my life for them, ask either the ex or my current partner). I may still watch them if it fits in with whatever else I'm doing but it will NEVER be something which dictates what I do and that is a bold statement bearing in mind that I once came back to Doncaster mid-way through a holiday because the Academy were playing Leeds at Thornesians.
Enough is enough!

| but we need as much support as we can get to survive. I fear we lost a lot of support after the queens fiasco. Todays crowd, must be the lowest for 20 years. not even 500, couldnt believe it.

| Gary have joined us in Clan Roebuck, we've been a few times this year and both my dad and myself can no longer get motived to go to games, to watch a struggling team which constantly ask us to put our hands in our pockets to prop them up.
We appear now to be signing players who arnt upto NL2 standard just in an effort to field a side.
Its a sad day, but its unlikely that we will visit the keepmoat again in the near future.

| I must admit that today was a very poor performance, the team had no ideas, no clue apart from the last 15 mins, Credit to Mark Castle
One man rugby that takes the ball up and puts in a kick at the end, the markers were non existent, some one on one tackles were like we were tackling ghosts, and it would be interesting to see our completion rate
No inside runners, no dummy runners just one man stuff.
My Missus said before the start of the season that Tony Miller is not the man, and after today showing(and not only today) i think she could be right.
We could have beat Leigh last week, but spilled too many balls, and i thought that this week we may have pulled together and got a win, but it wasn't to be.
Going off the rugby, where have the cheer leaders gone and also for the kids Vila and Parky.
I will be there next game, but am beginning to see a long and hard season.
I doubt that TM will have many positives from today, if he does then i want to know what game he was watching and i will go and pay to watch that one.

| rob, the queens fiasco had nothing to do with losing support and the club got the crowd they deserved today. That was an isolated incident.
With half hearted performances, stale coaching and one failure after another, the answer to the falling crowds is simple, people have had enough and just do not care anymore. It has even been evident in supporters evenings, the usual faces have dwindled fast which is concerning. Money is tight, so why would people waste what they do have on performances like today?
The new consortium, must give us hope in moving forward, but unless there is a change in coaching and players available (i appreciate we are hindered by budget and injuries) and quick, the current situation is only going to get worse with crowds dwindling even further. I agree this is going to be a very long and testing season.

| Well I echo most of these sentiments.
I walked out today on 53 minutes....but there was a big difference to most other times when I have walked out....I wasn't angry, I wasn't chuntering, I wasn't saying to the first person I saw 'what a load of rubbish'.
I was as calm as anything I just said bye to Gary (WANDERER) and his lad as I walked out.
I wasn't bothered....I had seen enough....you can't flog a dead horse.
They had to open the gate for me...but to my surprise others weren't far behind me.
That nice bloke who lost his legs and his friends were leaving.....and he is a regular.
I just thought has it come to this?
No spunk, no obvious passion......I mean that's the only way a poor side will beat a better side.....and I knew Gateshead would be better.
It was just so predictable.....and sad really.
I will keep going because I am a season ticket holder.....but I won't go out of my way for away games.
I may well walk out in the first half if they continue like this.......I hope not....but I am not sitting through that.
Away supporters are coming and out-singing us and taking the p?ss.
That's where we are at.
