What positive spin will the club put on this result against a club in 11th place the division above, there is no interest from club Doncaster to inject cash for players,it’s all talk and conning supporters

After a promising spell in the 1st half , we were blown away in the 2nd half.

What an absolute load of garbage. Left at 32-0 but 60-0 is disgraceful. Whitehaven weren't that good. Wonder if I can have my thirty quid refunded.

As per Weighman, I was mildly optimistic at half time.

By full time, I was wondering what else I could be doing on a Sunday afternoon.

Quote: weighman "After a promising spell in the 1st half , we were blown away in the 2nd half.'"

The sides looked quite evenly matched in the first 20 minutes but the telling factor was that we had a lot of possession near their line and didn't score, they had limited chances and found a way to get over the line.

In mitigation to the blow out second-half, Whitehaven were battled-hardened, we weren't. Nevertheless, Whitehaven were a well-drilled team with plenty of attacking options across the field. Their forwards made metres on contact, ours didn't. Their support play was excellent when they did get openings. In the end, they were too strong and overpowered us. We couldn't slow down their play-the-balls as we got fatigued. More errors crept into our game as we tried to push it which didn't help.

I thought our best players were Ben Johnston and Leon Ruan. Ben Johnston will be a handful for all teams in our league.

I suspect we'll be competitive in League One with a top four finish likely. We'll look good against the lesser sides but we'll be vulnerable against the better teams. Maybe the key to where we finish will be whether we get some props in or not.

The scoreline will have certainly done nothing for season ticket sales or to enthuse those who might be thinking of coming back. And those that went today might not fancy a quick return after such a comprehensive defeat.

I thought the first half of the game was very even ..........yes ,Haven had a 12 point lead going in to the break but I was hopeful of a strong performance in the second half.

I know we are still a month away from our season starting and I know we have numbers to come back in to the team ,but I was disappointed by our capitulation in the second half.
Havens forwards were dominant and made meters after every collision, thus giving their backs quick play the ball to exploit our flagging defence.

The squad on paper looks pretty thin with regards to strength in depth and if rumors about Hedges retiring are true then we need to be looking at some season long loan deals quickly.
I think unless we can get some more quality players in on loan its going to be a long season.

I know we have signed the two local lads but are they going to be at our level come the start of the season?

I was optimistic about the season ahead , was this just a blip or are there more serious issues to address before what will be a tough opener against the Hurricanes.
