I watched the game live yesterday and then watched a repeat this afternoon. You get a different perspective when you're not as emotionally involved.
I would never draw any conclusions about new players until I've seen them four or five times. I did like the look of Liam Johnson though,
Really felt sorry for Ryan Dixon. I hope his injury isn't too bad. He seems to have no luck.
It was a shame we couldn't have had a more gentle start to the season as having not played can't have helped from a fitness point of view or from a co-ordination point of view. Keighley didn't have that problem.
There are certainly things to be worked on defensively but we'll see whether we can tighten up those weaknesses in the next few games. It's disappointing to concede 44 points to any team in our league.
Credit to Keighley. I thought they played to their strengths and had a good game plan. Their forwards were very effective and proved how size matters, especially when playing on a tight pitch.
I'm sure we'll improve next week when playing at home. We'll get a better idea as to how strong the comp is after seeing Rochdale too. Time might prove that Keighley are a very good side. It's hard to say at this stage. We'll know more after their trip to Barrow next Sunday.
It's great to have rugby back. It'll be even better when we can see it live. It's a shame we can't 'live stream' all the away matches. I don't have time to get to them but would certainly pay to watch them.
PS. Well done to Bolton on gaining promotion. I'm sure one Dons fan will have had a beer or two to celebrate!
