It's about having a team to do the business at the play-off stages.
The game at Whitehaven is not pivotal, but a win would put down a marker.
However if we don't COMPETE, then we can't complain and Horne will have to strengthen via D/R in the short term and hope the D/Rs qualify in some way.
I will tune in with interest.

Use as many Hull fc players as possible to try and get out of this league.
May put several noses out of joint but the best way i can see of competing in the play offs

Do not agree, over the past weeks we have improved & RH must show some loyalty to those players . If we are short of players fair enough but remember we can only play those earning less than £50k .

We have got to get out of this league and I don't care what it takes.
When Cooke was using D/R we did well.

I suspect that Whitehaven are slightly better than Barrow and with home advantage will be very difficult to beat. When the bookmakers price the game up I wouldn't be surprised if they were 10 or 12 point favourites.

It would be very creditable to get a result there.

Just a final point on D-R , when PC was coach there was no salary limit on the players we could call on. We are not going to get 1st teamers players not getting a game but younger players ! at least RH will know their capabilities .

Connor Scott missing from the last 2 played off the bench for Hull u23's .

Rawsthorne , had 1 game with us D-R from Hull , has gone on loan to Leigh for a month .

Any comment , cannot blame Hull , its just the whole dual -reg thing .

I suppose there are a couple of points: Hull probably feel he's going to develop more by playing in Super League, and that he's ready for that challenge; plus Leigh are probably going to be paying his wages, whereas I presume players on DR get paid by their parent club.

It's probably a better deal for Hull that he plays at Leigh.

I'm not sure the loan system is any better as the parent club can usually recall a player if they need him. The parent club always has the upper hand. Teams like the Dons need to try to cover everything themselves wherever possible as that is the only way to have full control. That in itself brings potential issues though because if you have a very large squad players get fed up if they don't play.

If I were a coach, I think I'd try to go with season-long loans with no recall clauses, and only use other loans/DR if the squad was depleted through injuries.

With a loan deal at least you get the player for a month.
