Have to feel a bit for GT , he was subject to some foul play at York and I was watching York regularly then , they played some nice RL.
Seems the dons have not lived upto their high standards set for this season so far. The directors will no doubt be looking at the clubs spend and making comparisons on how other clubs with less money are performing . Skolars will prob spend 50% of the dons budget on players ?? and a draw with them probably nailed GT . some of the southern clubs are over achieving this year - York and Hunslet have now both been beaten by Oxford for example , again teams like that cant spend anywhere near our northern clubs on players ?
I think it was the right time for a change. If GT had stayed, it would have only been a matter of time.
The club couldn't expect us to buy into a 5 year plan for 2018 with GT at the helm based on the poor on-field performances we've dished up this season. His ability to build a squad capable of going up would also have to come into question.
At least this way, Peter Green can be given a chance and the club can take their time to try to find the right person for the job if PG isn't offered the post permanently.
