a coach who would commit to a long contract in order to take the club along at least the first 3 years that 5 year plan would probably be a good move but how many established names would commit to a league one club for the long term ? Maybe needs a coach who is on the rise, needs to be given a clear plan to get the dons out of the mire that is league 1 ! It must be an attractive vacancy for ambitious coaches, doncaster has the potential to be a big hitter
I think it was the right time for a change. If GT had stayed, it would have only been a matter of time.
The club couldn't expect us to buy into a 5 year plan for 2018 with GT at the helm based on the poor on-field performances we've dished up this season. His ability to build a squad capable of going up would also have to come into question.
At least this way, Peter Green can be given a chance and the club can take their time to try to find the right person for the job if PG isn't offered the post permanently.
