Quote: The Prodigal Don "I think the club have missed a trick here. They have a large group of disgruntled fans who are losing interest. If they had come out with a good season ticket offer they could have kept these fans invested in the club.
Now they are going to have an up hill battle trying to convince these fans to attend and pay on the gate.
I won't be buying a season ticket for the first time in years and that probably means I won't be attending at all. '"
There may be many, I'm certainly considering being one, who say £110 now or £130 when we've got a better idea of the calibre of the signings, do you know what, I'll risk £20 to see what happens but then still reserve the right not to spend the £130 at all if the product looks questionable.
As you have rightly suggested, it's then an uphill battle to get people to come and pay on the gate when they haven't committed to attend (by purchasing a season ticket).
Alternatively, people may simply take the view that they'll pay on the gate for the first 2 or 3 games and if they aren't happy with what's served up, they can walk away with no further cost incurred.
