Wonder why it couldn't be 3pm and 5 15?

Whilst agreeing with the general thrust of Jemmo's post, I'm not sure where you get "12 free fixtures" from.

I'm thinking "10".

Speaking personally, I prefer the 2pm kick off times but have sympathy with those who it causes a problem to.

The Dons have to act in the overall best interests of the club. Any changes from the norm are likely to hurt some. It's inevitable.

If the compensation is that Dons' fans get to see the second game for free then the club will be doing their bit to try to give us something back in return for the kick off change.

I hope the profile of rugby league in South Yorkshire is raised by this arrangement and that there are longer term benefits from improved attendances for both Sheffield and the Dons in the future.

I'm certainly not upset by it, 2pm suits me fine, feel for those who can't make the games, whether Dons or Sheffield fans. As for watching both games, not for me. I've got other things to do on my one day off, but for those who want to watch both, great for them

This could be a bit off a bonus for me and others .....

I normally leave at 4;40 to catch a bus at 4:50 outside the stadium and this suits me since I have an hour in Donny for refreshments before I catch my 6:02 bus home.
So normally I leave straight after the game and don't see the players up in the restaurant/bar.

So now, if I want, I can go up there and have a leisurely drink, see the players and then see twenty five minutes of the Eagles game whilst seeing other teams and gauging their strengths against what will be a very good Eagles side.
And I also have the option of watching more if the Eagles are getting beaten!

Well not really since there will be Shitehawks fans about and the Eagles may build up the better home record and hence bragging rights.

It's going to be a very interesting season with the potential for plenty to moan about ... I'll be in my element!

to be honest the earlier kick off makes no difference to myself,i do sympathise with those that is does affect.it just means leaving home earlier to get the train across,i can still get in the plough for pre match drinks.and after watching the dons I can get back to the tap in sheff for an extra hour before getting the tram home, result!!!.
