Looking forward to Sunday especially with our 3 signings last night:
WORKINGTON Town have received a triple boost to their squad by signing three young Wigan Warriors on a month's loan.
Forward Rob Lever and utility backs Jack Murphy and Lewis Tierney, the latter the son of former duel-code star Jason Robinson, trained with the squad last night and are expected to be in the Town side to take on Doncaster in the Championship opener at Derwent Park (3pm ko) on Sunday.
Roll on Sunday hope there is a good following from you guys
The win and second half performance built on a solid defence in first half. Dons turned over a lot of cheap ball and field position but just kept digging in and after the two early scores had the measure of the workington attack. Once the timing and possession with ball improved after half time the points followed.
Given the conditions this was always going to be a grind and the pack stood strong and looks competative.
Definitely worth the journey, 3 points and only two more trips to cumbria while every other team has still to go there 3 times.
