| Visited the Trackside on the East Lancs Railway in Bury. Had a stonking pint of Idle Landlord and Titanic Nautical Mild. At home, had several pints of the imperious Bateman's Salem Porter

| Went to the West Riding refreshment rooms at Dewsbury station today, first visit, and there is no wonder the place is held in high regard. Fantastic staff, decor, ambience and of course stunningly well kept ales. The Dark Mild from Timothy Taylors was the best pint of mild consumed in my forty years of beer drinking. The lady that is in charge of the food certainly knows her stuff as well.

A Bar with it's own Railway Station--rather than a Railway Station with a Bar.

Spot on DF. Bridlington is just the same.
What I also like about Dewsbury station is the parking fees and free after 6pm. Ideal for the Pie (Tues) Curry (Wed) and Steak (Thurs) nights.
Can't tell I'm hooked can you

| Had several pints of the Champion Beer of Britain at lunchtime and, for once, I must wholeheartedly agree with the tasters at the GBBF. Rudgate Ruby Mild is undoubtedly the best of its type I've tasted.

The Tut had it on recently. Always have it wherever it's on offer.

| Enjoyed an evening out in Lancaster on Saturday. Visited some cracking pubs ... examples;
Borough - town pub and resteraunt in Dalton Square
The Sun - bar adjoining the hotel of the same name
White Cross - a renovated canalside warehouse
Yorkshire House - a music pub popular with the Uni crowd
sampled Lancaster Red and Lancaster Amber (not had either before but previously enjoyed Lancaster Black).

| Visited the three Weatherspoons / Lloyds in town last night ...
Red Lion ... Saltaire Triple Chocoholic 4.8% - delicious, but I only ever have one when I see it.
Old Angel ... Highgate Black Pig 4.4% - effectively a cross between Highgate Old Ale and Highgate Mild and very drinkable.
Gatehouse ... Ossett Millbridge Mild 3.7% - well May is Mild month.

| Had some Burtonwood Top Hat real ale at The Queen Victoria in Llandudno yesterday.
Never had it before....brilliant.
For lovers of Llandudno, I have some bad news.....
The stupid Labour ex-government have only put a bank of 50 wind turbines out to sea.
I swear this country has gone barmy with these things....they will not solve our energy needs and are totally inappropriate in such a beautiful setting.
