[b:18bswgde]Rugbyman has retired. Welcome to Another Penalty[/b:18bswgde]:Black Backgrounds/Zoot.gif

Whilst i agree with you about the highshot near the end of the game, but i think you were watching the game through Oldham eyes only for the rest of the game, you were well looked after with penalties in the first half, forward passes and 2 or 3 of your players were never on side, yet you only comment on the Dons....but i suppose we are all only concerned about our team, and i suppose in your eyes your team were eusa_angel.gif all the game.

Quote: Stand-Offish "Yes that's good.
But now it will nosedive.

I still think this ref and his buddies tipped this game (not deliberately) at a critical time with poor decisions that cost us and tipped the seesaw in Oldham's favour.
Their fans were almost absent until then vocally and you could sense the relief from them when they got the lucky breaks.
Fair play to them they were the better side and went on to win well.
But if the ref had not stuck his oar in, Donny could have given it a go.
But you can almost sense with these forward passes that the official's response is .....''well what's it matter, the better side is winning, they deserve it.''
It shouldn't be like that.'"

Unfortunately, we also contributed significantly to our own downfall. The lack of respect for the ball in the second half was alarming after what was an excellent first half effort.

The player turning his back has already been mentioned but how many times did we 'cough up' the ball in Oldham's 20, including an interception which led to a try.

On a positive note, we came back with two tries to give ourselves a chance of a bonus point, but it wasn't to be as the final score then went to Oldham.

Firstly, attendance - whilst you may think that the crowd was good, the majority were from Oldham, so don't think there is that much to smile about on that front.

I thought Donny were a decent team and if they can learn to control the ball a bit better, could pick up some reasonable results between now and the end of the season (don't mind if you turn Blackpool and Hunslet over!)

As far as the Ref goes, have to agree he was shocking. His interpretation of offside was a joke, and I accept the comment made that we each see our own team's perspective, but I think he just gave up trying to get Donny on side as there was no chance at all. Also for the benefit of "Standoffish" he gave Donny a number of very dubious decisions in the last 15 mins after you had left to try to keep the score down, (knock ons permitted and six to go when clearly lost a few times).

Think despite the ref, quality shone through in the end, and as you would expect from my perspective the right team one, but credit your guys with a good first half performance.

Think some of your forwards need to lay off the pies for a few weeks and get a bit fitter though as they did run out of steam. Although your big lads did cause one shock in the first half - a contested scrum!!!! Haven't seen a team go for that for a long time, nearly paid off as well.

We've won a fair few scrums this year against the head...worth a go once or twice a game!

Whilst I'm not sure the majority were from Oldham, there were certainly a lot, and i think more than anyone else has brought (maybe similar to York) and for that I say cheers!

Well you are not the first away supporter to comment on it.
I myself banged on about in early in the season when it was even more marked and we could not win a game.
I gave up though, since the lads have seemed to shed a few pounds to be fair.......
.....but the fact remains some individuals are still overweight.

On yesterdays performance I wasn't happy where we were playing Lunt......he looks like a loose forward to me and I think we were playing him at right centre. A waste.

I also think some of our other Dewsbury recruits didn't do a lot, but it's early days for them to be fair.

There is still a serious second half issue that hasn't been addressed. And until it is we will contnue to flatter to deceive......and lose.
