| I paid £60 for my season ticket last season at the beginning of January, which makes a 33% increase for next season for playing in a lower league. As I had to miss some matches due to holidays, special occasions I see no point in buying a season ticket for next season based on the proposed increase. Probably £70 would be more acceptable with a reduced match day price of £8

| A 66% increase at the turnstile for an OAP cannot be justified whatever way it's looked at.
How would the club feel if the Kit Manufacturer asked for 66% extra---
It would argue it's case and if the Manufacturer refused to budge it would take it's business elswhere i'm sure.
I hope the club can budge on this one, because we can't afford as a club
to let any of the few remaining loyal fans take there business elsewhere.
As they say times are tight at the moment---but once someone stops supporting the club
it becomes a whole lot harder getting them to return.

| It does appear that the Pensioners have been treatd unfairly , with significant increases in prices.

Fair points Bruce. How would the club cope with a 66% hike in rent from the Keepmoat. I hope there is a re-think on the OAP pricing. There would not be enough new blood attending to replace the ones that can't pay that price, for what in essence, is third tier RL.

| Although i fully understand Carls point of view with this, and lets not forget he is the one who needs to balance the books, i do wonder about the logic of the decision.
If we say there are on average 100 OAP's attending each home game then that would gross £1000/game at the proposed £10. If 20 were not to attend (£200 gate reciepts) due to the cost then the additional gate reciepts above the suggested £8 (£800 gate reciepts) would be lost. Add to this the possible loss of other family members etc and some loss of good will and i fail to see the logic.
It is obvious from the intial responses and comments placed on this board that there may well be a reasonable number of OAP's who either choose not to or can't afford to attend so i actually think this decision may see a small reduction in the monies taken over the gates.
I really hope Carl and the board have a good think about this as at the fans forum mtg it was stated that the club is going to strive to listen to its supporters and that they are at the core of the club, surely this is the first test of that.
I fully support the new board with Carl and Steve at the helm but urge them not to dismiss the feelings of its oldest serving suporters as these people are part of the history of the club.
COYD.

| Dewsbury when relegated in 2007/8 offered the lowest priced season ticket prices in NL1 for 2008/9 were cheaper at the turnstile and have bounced back this season with an increased following. So who's right?
Watched my first Dons game in 1961 and been one of the faithfull ever since but will probably go to more away games and less at home especially as there are several grounds nearer to me than Keepafloat who will be charging less for senior's .
You pays your money and takes your pick.

| Quote DRAGONFAN="DRAGONFAN"But the whole point is that the OAP price has been upped by £4 on last years price.
Thats a rise as others have already pointed out of over 66%
If its not ok in your view to raise the Adult price by £1.
Then it's surely can't be fair to raise the OAP price by £4.
The club is rightly so being run on a tight budget--but there will be many OAP supporters
out there also on a tight budget and we can't afford to lose anymore supporters next season.
And there are a good few adult's who have been brought to the game by their parents
who are now OAP's and if one stops coming the others may choose not to come also.'"
Pensioners are in general better off at the moment than most people working.

| Quote CARL HALL="CARL HALL"Hi All
Just to inform you on the season ticket prices when we were in this Division 2008 the prices were as follows.
Adult Season: early bird £140, price from 1st Dec £165 Match Day £=red15.
Senior Citizen: early bird £90, price from 1st Dec £110, Match Day =red£10
Under 16's were £6 or £40 for season ticket.
We are trying our best to keep it simple there were about 7/8 ticket prices before which is confussing to everyone.
Most people are happy with the OAP season ticket price which covers NRC group games and all league games works out under £7 a game, so solution buy season ticket.
And what I will say is we do care about everyone but we also understand not everyone will be happy with the decision's we have to make.
We appricate all our loyal fan's support.
Carl Hall'"
Under cutting yourselves on the kids price Carl

| Todays pensioners are better off than any previous generation and are better off than future generations will be. The taxes being paid by the workers now are paying todays pensions. I appreciate they have paid their dues over the years but i do not think what the club is asking for a season ticket is over the top considering it as a one off payment which lasts you all of the year.
