Quote: Marshland "If all fails what would happen to money raised for a trust'"
When a Supporters Trust is set up the committee and it's members bust agree of their terms of reference, which is to say the aims towards which it strives. This has to be done legally as the comittee are acting as trustees for it's members and need to be accountable for their money.
If the club falls out of existence, the committee have the right to distrobute the money to causes etc which are deemed compatible with those terms of reference.
For example, a supporters trust could have amongst it's objectives this pretty standard one:
"Promote and Encourage inclusion into the game of Rugby League for all; regardless, of age, sex and background"
In which case the money could be donated to groups with the same objective (ie local amataur teams, scholarship schemes etc)
