Thanks for kind words and encouragment Raaaay ! well writings on the wall really my personal opinion wrong coach and struggled to buy quality players to get us up an running goin to be a tough 3yrs and when supporters start to walk will be difficult to get them back ! In my oppinion weve had time to get a good coach really , Hope im proved wrong !

It was good to see Widnes back where they belong. I was astonished by the margin in the scoreline though. I guessed at 24-12 to us pre-match.

Well that was a lesson and a half how to play rugby. Two good halves running the show, big pack laying the platform and strong powerful three quarters with tons of pace.

The most obvious thing was the organisation at work. Hudds had players running through as dummy runners around the back offering support, they seemed to have two or three more players on the park at times. It never helps when our own players miss tackles mind.

Lets have a look at the positives though... our forwards have some real power when they hit the ball with pace. Cross, Kavanagh, Davies and Davies all made good yards when they took the ball on the run. The thing now is to get this happening more and more. Someone needs to take control and start bossing the attacking line as they form up.


I look forward to Hanbury getting a foil in Watts at SO. Should take some of the pressure off and Moore might make more of an impact when he gets rotated at hooker when White's free'd up.

Hudds were very good though. Good to watch.
How gutted was I watching Robinson that Wigan stopped the lad from signing all those years ago.

Nice to meet some of you guys today- a great set of fans! As someone has already said many of us giants fans have been on the wrong side of worse results than that so we know how it can feel- try it for several years - no on second thoughts don't!!. Widnes were always going to be at a disadvantage this season being the new guys- the best that can happen is that the fans stay behind the team and try to help to keep their heads up no matter the results this season. All the best.

We learned a big lesson today and i was impressed with Eden,Robinson,Brown,Cudjoe,George,Tommy Lee and Brough.They all ran s ragged.Widnes looked unfit and missed too many tackles.The kicking game and chase was awful.We got smashed in the Championship and we need to spend on a well established and decent coach, who will bring new players too the club and will give talented youngsters a chance.This was a time to put Jack Owens at fullback and Craven in his prefered postion of standoff.Betts wont last long if we have lost the first 10 games.

Someone text into Radio Leeds to say Betts must go. A bit early, but looking at the players you have on board, you shouldn't be losing like that. You looked a bit disorganised from the start and never got to grips with us out wide. It was if there was no change in tactics to defend against us when you realised we weren't going down the middle much.

You have some good players, a mix of young and experienced, maybe its time to gel that is needed. I hope so, I really want Widnes to be a decent team. Good Widnes team will be good for Super League and I can remember the days of Davies and co, that was an exciting team.

Thankyou and you where a friendly bunch of fans.I talked to a few in the Gas club and you have sumed it up well mate.I have watched Widnes for years and we seem to get the wrong coaches and tactics.Kurt Haggerty is not a centre and Jack Owens is the England Academy fullback and it was a chance to play him there and Craven at halfback in his prefered postion.Not impressed with White at standoff and i am sure Hanbury will improve.Anyway goodluck for the season.

Lloyd White was shocking in defence. As were a few of them. Hanbury said he wants to dominate this team, okay, albeit he was playing behind a beaten pack today, but he looked anonymous to me.

With Briscoe and hopefully Watts back next week, I'd like to see Craven on the bench rather than White. We're seemingly desperate for our two new men to arrive also...
