| I know of at least one Widnes fan who started following Wigan when we were originally rejected for SL, who wants to start following us when we return to SL.
I really don't buy this notion that people living in Widnes will start following Saints, particularly when we get into SL just because Saints will be squatting in our stadium.

| Getting in to SL will bring out the woodworks fans, a much needed boost plus with the bigger teams and more away fans a better atmosphere, all this is common knowledge.
You might lose some fans who have Widnes as a 2nd team who go to games and want you to win but only because their own team isn't in the same league so it doesn't affect them to follow you, but all that said i don't think Widnes' crowd will raise because fans are turning from Saints/Wire just that more will come out to watch the bigger more exciting games.
You may also get the extra boost of Wire/Saints fans coming to watch you if their team is playing on a different day and they want an extra SL fix.
All in all no disadvantage to anyone really just positives. Now hurry up and get here we want our easy 4 or 6(magic week) points a season

WTF? Put the bottle down lad! Widnes do have a proud history, but so do Warrington. I'd like to think that being the only RL team to have maintained top flight status throughout their history is rather special.

Or highlights their lack of success over those years as a comparison to others

Clearly he has never done this in the past and thus has never deserved to be in a final, i suspect that the same scenario will occur tomorrow.:30555.jpg |

So as well as attending all the Widnes home games you could also go to the saints games against [sizeWire[/size, [sizeWigan and Leeds[/size. Thats a fantastic offer and would get a few more buying season tickets.'"
That wont happen as those 3 games will sell out

| I wouldn't bank on that though. A few Saints fans I know have said they won't be attending all games while they play at Widnes and as such haven't purchased season tix.
Granted these games are the most likely to sell out but it would still mean in the region of 9-10,000 Saints fans having to 'travel' for their home games.

How does the widnes history go beyond warrington when warrington have won more trophies throughout history than widnes? Compare the honours from both clubs official website honours list. 3 Championships each,7 challenge cups each, and overall warrington have won 39 trophies to 35 by widnes. Also as serge le forge says, the being the only team in the whole history of RL to have played every season in the top flight is something to be proud of!

Widnes winning the WORLD CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP goes way beyond ANYTHING wire have done(even the captain morgan trophy).

Go on each clubs website mate and total up the trophies, you are behind the wire! Yep,well done on winning the WCC,I hope you will congratulate us when we win it,which probably isn't to far off now I just hope winning it doesn't lead us into the sort of turmoil that winning it led widnes into, although i'm sure it won't.

I never said you hadn't won more what I meant was until you've won the WCC you'll be behind us in the trophy stakes cos thats the biggy. You can win all the other trophies 50 times each but you'll still be behind us until your WORLD CHAMPIONS.
Oh and while i'm at it:-
1st team to be World Club Champions
Last club team to beat Australia
1st away team to win at HJ stadium
thats something to be proud of!!!!!!
On the matter of our turmoil I (and I'm sure plenty of others who can remember) would rather have had won those cups and had the lean years than just have been also rans in SL for 15 years.

Oh and while i'm at it
First team to be world club champions???????????????? Didn't wigan beat Manly in 1987? Didn't Sydney St. George beat St.Helens in 1976? I think you'll find that they did pal. And on the turmoil, also rans in SL for 15 years? Well I would rather be an "also ran" and maintain top flight status throughout RL history and be run by a level headed chairman than be a club who has obviously lived vastly beyond it's means in the past and has paid a very heavy price(administration, relegation and many years as "also rans" in national league 1)any day of the week. We will have to agree to disagree here but despite the great team you had in the late 80's and early 90's which later cost your club so dearly you still weren't the dominant force in the uk game.........wigan were. Even in the late 80's and early 90's Warrington, with a team that probably cost a fraction of the widnes team to assemble, still held there own against you. For example I remember us winning two trophies around 89-91(lancs cup and regal trophy)and on both occasions we beat widnes in the semi finals,28-6(lancs cup)and 8-4(regal trophy). Last club team to beat australia maybe, but we beat them just before that and by a bigger margin than you did(15-12 as opposed to your 11-10)and we didn't need a dubious late penalty to do it! I don't know why you mention being the first away team to win at the HJ? Not really that important and something to be proud of is it? I could claim that we confirmed your relegation in 2005 by hammering you 60-16 on your own ground,I could claim that in 1927-8 widnes were on the brink of going bust and warrington donated their own share of the takings from the boxing day and easter derby fixtures to keep your club afloat(source, the history section of your own clubs website)if I thought making tit fot tat petty point scoring claims was worth it,but I don't.
