Anyone who thinks we've a chance of a licence ahead of Widnes and Toulouse must have a head full of monkey spunk. It plays no part in my thinking at all. All i'm interested in is a good game of Rugby League, not box ticking.

I don't sell my principles. Quality rugby league on the pitch is all i'm concerned with - what follows off the pitch as a result is in the hands of the RFL. I stopped playing top trumps when i was eleven.

To be honest I dont think we will got a franchise anyway, the only way we will get in is if we win the next two GF's and the next NRC. I reckon it will be Fax and Barrow in the final. I have a feeling we have left ourselves with too much to do this year.

No I haven't. It doesn't mean I've lost sight of anything. It doesn't mean I don't want to see great RL or see us win Grand Finals. But the whole ethos of RL as a competition has changed. Sport is also about progression and endevouring to be the best. Unfortunately, in this league, you have to tick a f*****g stupid box before you can even try. Therefore it's important for a club with ambition to do so. Our reaction is a sort of realpolitik.
