I don't think that is accurate.. even u21's don't count on the first team salary cap. You can pump as much money into academy sides as you like.
or if you are Fax... as little as you like.........
or nothing!!  |

Steve O'Connor said @ POTM that our cap was covering the 2 sides hence why we can't free spend as much on 1st team as others are doing!

Are you sure he wasn't simply implying that because we currently finance two academy sides we don't have the money to stretch to spend more on the first team?? As I said... even U21 players within the first team are not currently included in the cap calculations as a way of promoting youth development?
If we have to squeeze all three... or even two sides under a reduced cap then we will have an incredibly limited budget next year indeed. |

Pretty sure it's only 50% of their cap that doesn't count, not the whole thing (though not 100%).
From what I heard / read sounded like he was on about the cap not finance and that contracts may be reduced due to cap reasons not the fact we can' afford them!
It's not right but tbf, with an under 21's we technically double are playing pool so they will ceratinly cap that somehow! |

Sorry! lol. Erm no clue would expect it to be lower, but saying that for past few seasons Oldham have outbid quite a few NL1 sides for players so don't know!
