I'm glad that Thompson has left, I'm even more pleased that he's joined one of our rivals.

If Widnes players never got the better of Barrow players physically, as you posted on Total RL, then you deserve what you got.

The Barrow coach,whatever his name is,failed to do his homework on us properly and used the wrong tac tics.He thought our pack was a soft touch just like back in May when they won at our place but we have moved on since then and he must have failed to see it.A wiser approach would have been to play us at football .

Sod em, they tried to take heads off and failed dismally, We are original cup kings, first official club champions of the world, last club side to beat Australia, Reigning European and NRC champions, oh and not to miss off the James Edwards trophy thingy at xmas.

Barrow come out at Blackpool the intention of bullying Widnes and intimidating them out of the game. This is fair enough and it worked on our previous two meetings.

This time they were handed their ar5es back on a plate and now have players facing the rod of the RFL.

If you are going to use these tactics, you need to be clever and , more importantly, tougher than the opposition. They were neither.

Tough 5hit. Barra fans need to deal with it, instead of crying on here at Widnes fans about how unfair it all is.

Even now they are talking about taking out their revenge in the game up at Barrow... will they never learn!!





It's fine.. they tried to outmuscle us one too many times.. it reminds me of playing Cas in 2007.. We won the first couple but Cas soon learned what we were about as we have done with Barrow. Rooney will make a difference but they look like they are continuing to build in their forwards..

If their pack try to bully us again they'll get mashed again. We will have Grayshon back for that game, and that will counter the return of Catic, so they'll really be up against it now.

They should just concentrate on playing and laying a platform for the likes of Rooney, Finch, Cambell, Nixon and Harrison. If they do that they might just win.




But then again....

It's real double whammy that one.

Terry O: He's an absolute belter, Des. Runs hard, works hard, runs his blood to water and makes very few mistakes. He's got a great attitude too.

Terry O: Well you see, we thought we'd get him a bit of SL experience and polish off his skills. Since then we have gone from strength to strength and we don't want to meddle with a winning team.
