I liked Ned Kelly as Widnes boss but I don't know what he was thinking when he signed Hobbo.I recall Neil's final game in charge of Widnes when Wigan thrashed us at the Halton stadium.Hobson picked a fight with Gareth Hock and the two of them went toe to toe.Hock must have conceded around five stones in weight to his opponenent but guess who came second best.

Hobbo came with a high reputation as one of Halifax's only decent SL quality players in that squad, as a hard worker and a grafter. I swear, I remember going on their site and asking them and they were really positive about him!

Then he showed his true face. Ill disciplined, average, lightweight. He seemed to give away three or four penalties a match on his own, and he certainly didn't justify that with levelled aggression or good skill.

So it was you lot that ruined him ! We nurtured him, trained him, nay turned him into a lean mean athletic machine. Look what you did. Shame on you

This includes youth teams (though only Widnes seem to care about that!).

I don't think that is accurate.. even u21's don't count on the first team salary cap. You can pump as much money into academy sides as you like.

Are you sure he wasn't simply implying that because we currently finance two academy sides we don't have the money to stretch to spend more on the first team?? As I said... even U21 players within the first team are not currently included in the cap calculations as a way of promoting youth development?

If we have to squeeze all three... or even two sides under a reduced cap then we will have an incredibly limited budget next year indeed.
