thanks guys, i downloaded Gimp2 after my previous post. if only i could work out how to merge different layers i could crack on with my first idea!

| Right, i realise its not banner dimensions. but dalto suggested i have a go and i just felt like creating. i can worry about dimensions later. so after two evenings of playing around (i dont believe in manuals or tutorials), i have my first ever bit of image editing to show you.
ive stayed away from pictures of past glories and gone for the viking/norway and northern lights angle  |

Oh absolutely. But the height restriction is a bit of a pain. It's difficult to do anything that interesting with so little space.

I love these so far. Might I make a suggestion? Replace chemic with a player or a real viking. Or on smurfs effort, needs to be smaller, not sure we can use Thor, otherwise, fantastic. Love the ambiance.

I would put my photoshop skills to good use but there is little point putting any effort into anything that is 776 x 75 pixels.... 75 pixels in height is just ludicrous and cannot incorporate anything whatsoever of any significance in the design. |
