i thought the game changed completely when you took gannon and haggerty, they looked slow, unfit and gannon seemed determined 2 giv pens away. the 2 lads that came on (not sure on ther names) ran it up harder and seemed up for it more

Pickersgill and Davies.

We were a different team with those 2 on, it wasn't a coincidence Thacks had space to set up 2 tries just before half time with those driving the ball through the middle.

Surprised with Jim Gannon yesterday, he's usually our Mr Reliable in games like that.

Even if i was not working i would not go to Fax, to see us get smashed for a rip off £17 .We are terrible and need Varkulis,Houghton and try Danny Hulme at scrumhalf. If not lets try Grant Gore as he is a talent in the 18s.I drop Netherton and start with Smith and Coyle interchanging.Haggerty needs reserve rugby and Hecky to replace him if Cullen has sense.

I have a couple of grumbles...

Firstly.. how can a referee award a goal line drop out..following direction from the assistant. Then change his mind.
Secondly.. someone mentioned game changer earlier on. I think the part of the game where Widnes had driven up the field to the 10 yard line when a Leigh player stuck out his hand to intercept and the knock on wasn't given was massively important. The resulting try at the other end was a smack in the face and it was after this that the discipline just folded. Shocking decision as had been the referee's unwillingness to give any of the offsides in the play leading up to that. Widnes were well on top that stage with Smithy leading us around the field.

As for our own performance... what can you say.
Very sub-par performance. There were times when the players seemed reluctant to bend their back in the tackles. Concentration seemed non-existent during periods of play. We had no attacking shape and were sickeningly flat. I don't think Coyle or Thacks had particularly terrible games but there was no real guile on display from them.
For the first time yesterday I became frustrated with the chairman's supposed reluctance to spend money this year. (Both he and Cullen have both said that they have plenty of room under the cap but are happy enough to stick with the youth.) That's a fair enough policy but surely the more senior players should be decent enough to compensate. The crowd was down on what was expected and I'm probably not going on Thursday now.
Being down to one salary in our household and having a new mouth to feed means I'll miss out on shelling the petrol and entrance money and watch it at home in case we get a similar performance.

Most annoyingly as ever... it seems it should be a fairly simple thing to sort out these problems and yet the same mistakes keep being made week in and week out.

Quote: -VIKINGMAN- "Im sorry but that was another pathetic performance to add to the growing list, I really do feel for Cullens family situation but we need a new coach who can motivate and get the best out the current crop of players. We concede for fun and our discipline is shocking.

Once again, best support, most money, fantastic ground, crap first team.

Im not going Halifax on Thursday to witness another beating, our season is over.'"

First bit of sense ive ever heard from Vikingman, how true.

You know VM you could still do a Fev, they finished in the last play off place last year as i recall and got all the way to the shay for the last game before the grand final.

if you can finish 6th you could upset a few teams, if we finish 2nd i cant see us going to Fev and winning so you might end up back at the shay in the play offs.

its a long shot, you seem a bit disheartened though VM, am trying to give you hope for the remainder of the season

No chance our season is over now.Need a new coach as he keeps slating the players. Is it the coach, or the players garbage and not listening to him?I wont be going to Fax as be a walkover unless some miracle happens.

This is cullens team.He failed badly at w**e and he is doing the very same here. With the set up we have here and not even finish in the top six is a total disgrace. The blame for this seasons shambles is down to the coach. The buck stops with you mr cullen. icon_biggrin.gifEPRESSED:

To be honest, that's the most annoying part. Many people expected us to be handed a bit of a beating by Barrow or at least for our cup run to end that night, but the performance put in by the team was excellent.
I can't remember us playing that well at any other time this season. Make no mistake it has been a damp squib. No wonder crowd figures are dropping off.
