| Quote: Chris B "I see from the Hysterics in Widnes board that Varkulis is facing a charge for his tackle on Campbell.
I think it was rightly put on report and rightly up in front of the panel. But I hope they then view the manner in which Varks reacted when he realised the position he had the player in.
He put the player down like a sleeping baby being put back in his pram. This made the feigning of injury by Campbell an absolute disgrace. It was intended to get Varks sent off and nothing more.
The widnes crowd are a decent bunch when it comes to recognising a player being genuinely injured and I'm pleased to say that the occasions of a player faking it have been few and far between. I hope this doesn't start to creep into the game. Campbell was roundly booed for his play-acting and I would hope that this booing continues everytime he touches the ball in opposition against Widnes. Disgusting little poop!!!!!'"
As you all did when Zeb Luisi was injured...you booed him and when the Barrow fans applauded him off all the Widnes fans did was shout for Widnes. I was disgusted and before you deny this, even the commentators stated that only Barrow fans clapped him from the field.

Absolute complete and utter BOLLOCKS. Get the chip off your shoulder you malcontent.
Widnes fans were applauding and cheering for Gaskell getting back and halting Luisi's dangerous break. I've never ever in almost 35 years of watching Widnes seen fans cheering when an opposition player gets injured. I and all Widnes fans around me (incidentally directly behind the Barrow fans) were applauding Luisi off as we always do when a player has more than a bump.
You Barrow fans (and your chairman - who also (allegedly) has form for cheering injured players) need to get rid of your no one likes us inferiority complex.

Hilarious... when Luisi was down there were plenty of shouts of Deano ringing around the ground for the brilliant cover tackle he had just completed...
Then your comment about about the commentators... the video showed a clip of the Barrow fans applauding and Bill Arthur said 'The Barrow fans applauding their man from the pitch'. Hardly the same as only the Barrow fans..
The main difference between the two incidents was that Luisi was very obviously injured and hurt badly. Campbell simply play acted.

| So you would call booing applauding your player for the cover tackle? I still have the game on Sky + and watched it again to confirm I was right.
It strikes me that certain Widnes supporters should sort their own backyard out before slagging other teams off and stating your whiter than white.
I was at the St's game and yes I was disgusted when some of the non regular "Barrow Fans" and I use the term lightly, cheered, however I'm not so blinkered that I claim all Barrow fans are fantastic.
You did boo Zeb when he was down and you did not clap him from the field as you were all too busy shouting for your team. Minor points I know and I'm glad to say quite rare in our great game. I always enjoy coming to your ground and will be there next Sunday, lets hope everyone walk off the field unaided.

| Well I have posted an example of how you are no different than any other set of fans and I think you have proved my point by the insults you have posted here.
I have never mentioned the result or defended the actions of certain "Barrow fans" at St Helens so I dont see how I'm blinkered.
Yes we were beaten by a better team on the day and it is always a hard and close game against Widnes, games I enjoy watching. I fail to see why I'm a Troll when I was only pointing out that, as with alot of other Championship club fans you dont always act in the manner originally stated by CB.
Good luck for the rest of the NRC as I think you will win it again this year.
By the way you are a great example of the Widnes Fan base well done you do your club proud!
CB I have not seem the video of the Campbell tackle so I cant comment on that. I will make the point that it is not always cut and dry as to injuries. Being an ex player i know that what looks an inoccuous tackle can create serious injuries. Saying that I agree with you that I hope feigning injury for gain does not creep into our game.
I see players trying to gain penalties all the time especially at the PTB, falling over at the slightest touch. How far do we allow this to go?

| Just watched that part of the recording myself soss. The commentators words were "Luisi, able to leave the field and getting the applause from the Barrow supporters....and belatedly the Widnes supporters".
Any booing was coming from the Barrow fans who were reacting incorrectly to Widnes fans chanting "Deano, Deano" after Gaskells tackle, thinking they were chanting his name for hurting Luisi when they were singing his praises for the tackle alone.
Incidentally, you Barrow fans were also singing when Luisi was down injured.

| Despite your platitudes towards the end I'm afraid you just sound like a sore loser.
I couldn't attend the game as I was looking after my son so I watched the game live on TV. When the tackle was made two things were clear... Deano instantly recognised that the player was hurt and signalled to the Barrow bench. Secondly the crowd began singing 'DEANO' not booing..... which is fair enough. The guy is a crowd favourite being one of the famous five, for his contribution with two tries and his style of running. It would be unreasonable to expect the stadium to wait in silence whilst the player is treated before being able to recognise a players effort. We do have a group of over-exuberant youngsters that attend the games and I wouldn't pretend otherwise. Unfortunately these are sometimes the most vocal. What these were doing is often up to them. They are a law unto themselves. However to categorise 'ALL' widnes fans this way just smacks of jealousy and resentment which I find plenty of from 'some' of your fans. As we approach the licence announcements I expect more of this from the cult of Des Johnston.
Another point I would like to make is about the seriousness of the injury. Admittedly it looked fairly bad but the player was sat up and concious the whole time. Completely different from the sickening feeling when you notice that a player has remained lay down following a tackle.
On the point of the stadium shouting for Widnes when the game was about to be re-started... you are kidding me aren't you... they've got a bloody nerve haven't they!!!!! Fancy trying to rally some support in a game like this one, after a play like the last one also taking into account how bad things have been at the club recently. Widnes fans in supporting their own team and shouting the club name shocker!!! You are right to be appalled.
I'll say this again also, just because Bill Arthur mentions the Barrow fans applauding their player off when they are in shot does not mean that there were not sections of the Widnes support also applauding. In the past we have had fans from other clubs on here thanking us for the support we have show to injured players. On a number of occasions when we have played away from home and the injured player has had to walk in front of the fans they have received applause whilst they have walked the length of the stand.
On the point of these 'non real' Barrow fans or whatever you called them.. you need to make your mind up and can't have it both ways. You are either happy to include these new faces as Barrow fans and celebrate what sounded like a decent turnout or identify your 'true fans' and only record these in your attendance figures. I suspect it will be the first option.

Perhaps you should watch the video again!
You are making up your own words for my comment alot of barrow supporters turned out as it was against St Helens, we never see them at home or away games and just used the game for a p*ss up.
As for my platitudes, I listen and take in what other people say and as a free thinking human being can change my own opinion based on ALL the facts.
I am right when I said there was booing (now not sure where it was from as I take onboard comments from this forum) and Widnes chants while Zeb was down not as the game was just about to restart. Fact!
Having followed Barrow through thick and thin the last thing I am is a sore loser as that was knocked out of me years ago...
As for me categorising "ALL" Widnes fans, thats exactly what you did, see your original comments.

| I was right behind the Barrow fans and MOST of them were not paying any attention to Luisi themselves and were more interested in mouthing off at the Widnes fans. I even commented on this at the time.

On thread drift:
[quote="tb":24qn1m99]Tough. Conversations develop. It's their nature.[/quote:24qn1m99]
Little Pepe went to nursery school one day wearing his Widnes hat. His teacher asked him why he was a Widnes fan. He said, “Because my parents are.” His teacher said, “That’s not good. What would you do if your parents were drug dealers and hookers?” He replied, “Well then I would be a Warrington fan.”
[i:24qn1m99]There's a Wooly over there, baggy kecks and feathered hair
with a 3 star jumper half way up his back, that’s a fecking Wooly back![/i:24qn1m99]

No, that was Barrow fans booing Widnes fans for having the audacity to applaud Gaskell’s cover tackle and chant his name. There was no gloating over ZL’s injury and no booing by Widnes fans.
