I think he means with all the CULLEN OUT, hes not good enough, we perform bad with him thread. I personally will wait until after next season to give my opinions on the matter given the horrible year Paul has had with his personal life. Lets get behind him and the club.

Look at the job Noble has done at Crusaders with a late start and a poor team to begin with.. That is what a good coach can do, and without much money or superstars.

In Michael Witt and Jarrod Sammutt, Noble has bought one of the best half back pairings in SL. He's signed a load of Aussies, for a truckload of money, and sent alot of young Welsh lads to play for South Wales Scorpions. With the resources he's had compared to other SL clubs, Nobby should have been expected to get the Crusaders into the play offs.
I'm not saying Cullen has done a great job at Widnes this season, but to compare his and Widnes' resources with Nobles and the Crusaders is unfair.
Cullen has also played plenty of youngsters this year. Some haven't been upto it, but what has he had to lose in trying them out? And the likes of Danny craven have gained invaluable experience that will benefit Widnes during the next few years (if you keep him). Compare this attitude with Noble, who was ready to send Sam Tomkins out on loan because he had a better player in . . . Tim Smith!! It was only because Smith got injured that Sam got his chance in the 1st team.

Who, conversationally, have already made 8 or 9 additions to next seasons squad. Panicking or what!?

| I don't think there's a huge problem. We've given a lot of opportunities to young players in order to bring them on. I wasn't expecting any great on the field success this season, just laying the groundwork for if we get into Super League with regards to youngsters. Add into that what's happened in Paul Cullen's personal life this year; it was never going to be a good season.

| If it were not for a bit of unexpected recent form people would not be that shocked at losing to Barrow at their place. It's an annoyance that Smith was not given the send off he deserved and its annoying that we didn't give them a game or play to our potential but it's not a complete disaster. Plan A for Widnes was to win at the first opportunity and then build up for super league. Plan A is not only still very much alive it has never been closer.
Forget about this game. It could be worse.
Cullen has had a turbulent time recently, it is very unfair to start throwing mud on him now.

How about remembering where Wire were when PC took over? Heading for relegation.

Cullen has also left wires with a pretty good legacy, the brand of rugby we play was inspired by Cullen. We may not have been successful in terms of trophy wins, but We were good to watch, and considering saints fans recently have won nothing and have bitched about their style of play thats not a bad thing.
Cullen also demanded the HJ pitch should be the maximum dimensions which would obviously help when we go to places like Wembley...
unlike his predecessors Cullen Left behind Good things, Van de velde, Anderson and even Johnson towards the end left some pretty awful messes.
Tony smith would never have come to Warrington on the back of Steve Anderson/David plange's reign, with us in or near the relegation zone. So fair play to Cullen, he'll never get credit at Warrington because of what Smithy has since taken us on to.
Millward and Noble couldnt win anything in charge of the mighty Wigan and they filled their boots at their other clubs...
Cullen certainly deserves a season in Superleague in charge Of widnes.....who would you rather have in charge for the Wire widnes Derby ?

I think Warrington fans have very short memories. Some Warrington fans look back at their time with Cullen in charge with fond memories, but the facts are that a lot of Warrington fans hounded Cullen of Warrington for at least 12 months before he decided to quit. I did a bit of googling which told me Cullen was the favourite to get the sack midway in 2007 and by midway through 2008 Warrington fans were arranging sit-ins in protest of Cullen continuing to take charge of Warrington.
Considering the amount of money Cullen had available, he underachieved at Warrington. He had one good season (2005) and things went downhill from there. I think it also worth noting that in that 2005 season 7 of their wins were by 6 points or less. They were hardly smashing most teams with amazing attacking play and only losing against the likes of Leeds and Saints. They were getting results like scraping a 1 point win against us, a 2 point win against a poor Huddersfield side and a 4 point win against a Leigh side who only won 2 games all season.
Not saying Millward would be the perfect choice, but he has been there and done it before and also whilst at Leigh they completely outplayed/outcoached us in both games. If it was a choice between Cullen, Millward and even someone like Noble, I'd have Millward 1st, Noble 2nd and only retain Cullen if there litterally was no other recognised candidates. I know his situation has been awful, but thinking from a purely playing perspective, I think we need a re-think. I would also have no problem at all if Widnes wanted to keep PC in some capacity - in fact, if Widnes did decide to change head coach, I would sincerley hope Widnes didn't just get rid of PC completely. I'm sure there would be some role available to him until another head coach position came up elesewhere.

at the time those 1 point wins were being correctly called as games we would have previously lost by a couple of points so it was in fact a decent turnaround. we did a similar thing when we got pipped by wigan in 94 and Jiffy was man of steel we won games by the odd goal kick here and there that we would have lost before he arrived...
so winning by a point isnt such a bad thing.
personanly i'd feel sorry for you if you got Millward his time has gone, he commands no respect and is a comedy figure...
