No, mate. We have a good fan base and an excellent service area to fill our academies. Our backer is here to stay and is making this club self-sustainable. It is Salford who are entirely dependant on the generosity of one man.

The thing is with Salford is that the talent is here, they just don't end up at Salford most of the time. Our 3 best products over the last 20 years have not been snapped up by the club - Betts, Morley, Hansen.

But anyway, although many of you would love Salford to be "demoted" , I wish Widnes all the best. The more teams this side of the pennines the better.

Back to the point, I can only imagine that this must be a bit of a lull for you at a time you should be jubilant. The concern I'd have is that when other team's came up (e.g Salford) we had the best players in the National League (at the time). Alker, Littler, Fitz, Stapleton etc were Super League players who had shown loyalty to the club by staying on (or in Stapo's case still joining despite the relegation). That at least gave a foundation to build for the first year back in Super League. In your case, I'm struggling to see where the foundation is. You have the 3 years to build which is a bonus, but nobody wants to see a team getting tonked every week.......I won't make a comparison to your current form

Actually,you are probably right.There always seems to be a non rugby reason to save Salford.Premature 'plans' for a new stadium in 2008 and being 'on site',tapping into the huge Manchester market etc etc.One thing's for sure,Salford won't be making themselves certs for a 2015 licence by being a power on the pitch and selling out their new stand.
