The rules should not be relaxed.

Dispensation makes a mockery of the system.... SOC has been bigging up the youth as part of the bid.

If i was a widnes fan i wouldn't want relaxed rules.

shaun briscoe is a quality signing, i think jamie rooney is still good enough for super league but you will need to combine him with an aussie half back, also i reckon u should look to get a good set of forwards thackray-not a bad player morrison- not bad. will be wakefield that go down unless the rfl bottle it and bring up halifax and make it a 16 team league.

If they can attract back any mature SL players that count as club-trained in could be doable. Otherwise you're looking at a squad that is going to be lacking any sort of depth.
Although Hull KR obviously had to focus much more on the first team, the gradual increase in the club-trained quota and restrictions on who qualified made it (combining club-trained with decent depth) just about doable - going straight to 8 of 25 top earners with 3 full years at club prior to turning 21, would be slightly daunting for Widnes, IMO.

Sean long has been rumoured to be coming back to this region but he's past it now IMO. He's not from widnes but has played for us.

it should have nothing to do with bringing back players from their ranks who have left.

They have 3 years.... that's along time..... there will be plenty of players out of contract over the next 3 years... decent ones as well..... SOC has already said they will be spending full cap.

Widnes could finish bottom for 3 years on the bounce (which they wont) and the RFL would not kick them out.

They dont NEED to go down the route of spent australian journeymen....thats the last thing the RFL will want... thats why they chose Widnes.

I would be amazed if they gave Widnes dispensation and they took it.

Dont start already, Yere and Blacky are easily good enough for SL. You should sign Blacky just as a thank you

Ryan McGoldrick & Ryan Hudson may be allowed to leave with a year left to run on their deals at Cas and would be good players for Widnes for a couple of years.
