Good day for we Leythers today. We were due a good one, after losing five of our last seven league games! However, I still reckon you guys are going to get the last laugh, in the form of a 'franchise'.

Whilst Hill of course had a good game, we were at our best for the final 15 of the first half with Davies and Pickersgill on the pitch.

Leigh were very good today and played some impressive sets, we were lost when Thacks went off injured.

You were unlucky in some cases ( especially the short passes near our line) and lucky in others. Your pack needs a clear out or some need a kick up the ass. Don't get too down ladies and gents you will come good. Remember when you did us to go into SL. The reason your kicking game looked rubbish was that Stu Donlan was pefect today. A lesser man would have spilled those high kicks and his positioning and talking to his wingers getting them ready for your kicks was spot on. You can't buy that sort of experience ans craft.
Oh and talking of trolls, our first thread was just VM and LR( fax ) and GFB (fax ). I thought I was on the wrong forum.

And don't pretend you'd be any different should you ever manage to beat us. That's five in a row and counting....

No, we won't. We've been waiting all season to come good and we've thought the injury crisis was holding us back. We are back to full strength and don't look any better, in fact we are getting worse. No good attacking strategy, poor defensive organisation and no 'brains' - eg at one point today Robbie Paul was out on his feet after a big hit - WHY NOT THROW THE BALL OUT AND RUN AT HIM???? No, lets just keep bashing away up the middle. We constantly hold off in our defensive line - any half back looks amazing against us because they get all day to do what they want.

Cullen is constantly out-coached and out-thought, our players don't seem to know what they are going to do next. We got to the cup final on the back of an easy draw and playing Barrow when they were knackered after playing Saints. We might scrape 6th spot if we are lucky. And that is nowhere, nowhere near good enough.

Must admit that I couldn't believe Widnes were persisting with going down the middle. It's been clear all season that we're pretty weak out wide, but our pack were awesome today, can't understand why Cullen didn't try to switch it around a bit.

Should have started (another lesson not learned from last week). And wasn't on long enough. Our best prop.

We play the same way each game. It's no surprise that the best coaches in our league come up with a game plan that beats us. We play like we have no idea what to do on the last tackle other than hope Thackeray (who's clearly unfit) can do a bit of magic. Stanton's try being a good example of this.

Thought Thackray was dreadful today. Looked completely devoid of ideas although it could be argued he didn't have the runners - he got smashed a couple of times because he was looking for a man on his inside that was never going to arrive.

Why is it that Smith is been spelled now? It's bizarre, we're so much better with him on the field. Allen was throwing out silly passes all game, although some of them should have been taken anyway.

Flynn was great again, and I liked the acceleration of Marsh for his try.
