Hartley was immense against Fev the other week so I won't be too critical.

theres a buzz about the place again which we've not had for years so hopefully the word is going round town that we're worth watching again then hopefully the away bandwagon will start to roll again.oh it feels good to be a leyther again

It was a very good game to watch, from a neutrals point of view. It was a bit scrappy at times, but both teams particularly Leigh, were trying to throw the ball about a bit. Leigh were really supporting the man with the ball and made some exciting breaks as a result.

Leigh’s defencive line-speed was excellent and very disciplined in the first half, but they seemed to tire in the 2nd half. I was wondering why Duffy wasn’t brought on earlier than he was towards the end but, when he did come on, he turned things around quickly. He did this a lot for Widnes, when coming off the bench. The NRC final is a case in point.

The difference in coaching was there for all to see too. The old pervy was talking to the players who’d been subbed and explaining exactly what he wanted from them when they went back on. Ste Mac just stood there with that clueless -[i‘Christ, what the hell do I do now’[/i, look - we know only too well at Widnes.

VM is right, there does seem to be much fatness in the Leigh camp. If they put this right, they could be genuine contenders this season.

Also, I’m gutted for Nixon. That was a sickening break, and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. I hope we’ll see him back playing as soon as possible.
