Quote: J20 "And Foden is the current starting FB for the England RU side on double the money he'd get here! Eastmond anyone?

Not doubting Foden would be great in RL. But not sure how an international RU player is more realisic than an international RL player?'"

dare to dream! icon_razz.gif when i win the euro millions i will be paying him twice what he is on now to mow my lawn twice a year icon_wink.gif then his playing contract can be a tenner a week. sorted.

Surely:
Nigel Plum
Siuatonga Likiliki (pronounced licky licky?)
Pele Peletelese - great kicking game - well maybe
Peni Tagive

Must be high on the shopping list.

I'm going to try and do some research and produce a scouting thread.

Of our current players:

Likely SL standard players:
Thackeray, Kavanagh, Heckenberg, Finnigan, Allen, Tyrer, I'Anson

Young SL-potential talent already first team regulars:
Flynn, Craven, Gerrard, Grady, Kurt Haggerty

if the vikings are going to be spending the full 1.6 mill then some players who people would want might have to leave to fit them in the 25 man squad, so players such as finnigan and heckenburg could go if the vikings are going to spend to the full cap

I like thackeray and was pleased to see him doing well for you but his defence when he played in sl was very poor and teams will just target him all game.

Like most other half-backs then?

Thacks is young and improving. I think he'd go well in SL given another chance.

Much worse than other half backs, worst defender at half back we had in years, like i said i like the kid, i would like to see him do well, I'll always be grateful for the part he played in us winning promotion in 2007, but his defence was nothing like sl standard thats why we got rid, no one doubted his attacking ability.

I admit his defence is sometimes poor in the championship, which i saw against Leigh. He is a good player but i do have doubts for Superleague.Be a good squad player for cover though.

Funny as I think in our league for a half back his defence is one of his major plus points? Can't ever re-call him being a liability whatsoever! Come on Offthecuff you can't judge anyone's defence against Leigh all terrible, especially not Thacks as he was at FB 2nd half.

He has good upper body strength and holds his line well. He was unlucky at Fax as they were struggling and he was still very young, only about 20? Bare in mind he never played a full season until he joined Widnes I think he's been excellent and really improving. Without a doubt worth his shot in SL as well... he's got us there!

Apparently Widnes contacted Lockyer's manager to ask if he'd be interested. He's not, but it's good to see ambition.

When you look at the lists of OOC NRL players, I hope that Widnes are looking at the reasons why some of them would want to come over. Luke Bailey and Preston Campbell at the Gold Coast have been absolute revelations as leaders on and off field. Finding someone - from SL as well - with the same attitude is key.

In terms of pure numbers, one source will probably be whichever SL side Widnes replaces?
