Poor performance today, Barrow were there for the taking IMO. They didn't look anything special but yet again some woeful defence.

Too many basic errors aswell today, far too many knock ons when we got in site of their line. Not as many travelling Widnes fans there as I thought would be either.

It's true though mate! Barrow hardly convincing today yet ran out clear winners! Said more about us than you IMO. Widnes had more ball yet Barrow won clear. Credit your bots for that but hardly dominated proceedings.

Fair enough J20 but remember were threadbare at the mo plus knackerd after a tough shift at Leigh wereas your lot had plenty of rest, if it were t'other way around we may have put 50 into you.

I'll tell you what I'm on about. Before the license decision, you were all over the internet, making crap up about us in a vein attempt to sling enough mud on us for the powers that be to instead choose a license as wafer thin as Barrow's. Now the inevitable has happened, you've gone quiet, you've left us alone, and you've been told.

I'm not the type to start getting arrogant and high and mighty just because Widnes won the war for a license, but I admit now, I did enjoy thinking about people like you being put in their place. I suppose it will be Wakefield's and Halifax's turn to suffer your ignorance in the coming years.

What a whole massive 17.5 hours difference? Barrow mans up very well yesterday in fairness and certainly seemed more enthusiastic in attack and defence which is the reason we failed to get back into the game in the second half.

Fair assessment that.

Thats kind of the point, any Widnes fan knows how bad we can be at the moment - especially away games and also in games were the game is already lost. In the 2nd half of recent games, Leigh racked up the points (twice), Batley racked up the points, even in our win over Halifax, they scored 3 further tries, but Barrow only managed one further try. To put it into perspective, us only letting in 6 points in the 2nd half is probably our best effort all year.

Add that to the fact that Widnes did have quite a few chances to score other tries, no matter how poor Widnes looked it doesn't really say a lot about Barrow does it? Barrow deserved to win, there's no doubt about it, but if Barrow were that great, they would have won a lot more handsomely. I don't think you'll find one Widnes fan who was happy with that performance (indicating we expect better), but Barrow fans seem quite happy with theirs. Personally I think Barrow will have a similar season to Widnes, they'll win more than they lose at home, but away they'll be vunerable away and can't see either side contesting the GF.

Barrow were down to the only 17 fit players registered at he club and had a day less than widnes to recover from their last match. 7 locals took the field for Barrow and every one of them played with pride for the shirt - something that has been lacking badly so far this season.

No-one is saying that Barrow were 'that great' (quote from 'vikings 4 ever'), but we were far, far superior to Widnes in every aspect. Only Mellor looked dangerous at times and scored your 2 tries - which were really individual efforts.

Wright seems to have got the players back on track, particularly in defence, and with 2 or 3 new additions to the squad I reckon the likes of Fev and Leigh may well start to look over their shoulders in a few games time.
